Q: How would you recommend attaching the hardware on each tree if going tree to tree?

I created loops of cable wrapped in garden hose to put over the branches and connected them to the cable to them with a s hooks.

Q: Can you attach this to a vinyl sided house?

You can but it needs to be screwed in at a point where there is wood to anchor the screw behind the vinyl. The vinyl itself will not hold it.

Q: What is the diameter/gauge of the stainless steel core of the cable?

The inner core of wire is approximately 14 gauge. The diameter of the inner core of wire is 1/16". the overall diameter is 2/16" or approximately 8 gauge. The inner core is made up of 7 strands of SS wire, then covered with nylon. This is very strong wire for the purpose intended, but it is not unbreakable. I have already had a large tree limb fall on the wire and it did break. Wire repair was relatively simple by simply slicing a small piece into the overall length using the wire kit.

Q: Can the included two expansion hooks be used in masonry?

These type of hooks have expansion anchors already on them and they are designed specifically for masonry.
