Top notch, very heavy in weight, that mean's it's not cheaply made. have not installed at this time but the promise of good results are promising ...

These things aren't simple to install, BUT they are gorgeous. I dislike the fact that you are stuck with RJ-45 connectors. I would have preferred a second plug set.

Even my electrician was impressed with this receptacle as he had never installed a pop-up before. He even got to use it on a later job to charge a tool. Love the way it closes flush when not in use. The finish (brass) goes nicely with my hardwood floors. I had removed a number or walls (and with them outlets) to open up my living space. This in-floor receptacle adds instant value to my home.

This looks great. However the installation directions are misleading and poor. The template size is incorrect. If installing in existing flooring you will need to flip the ears and NOT follow the included directions. They assume you haven't installed the main floor yet. See the directions for a similar unit from Leviton before putting this unit in. The cutouts for the keystones are non-standard. Thus, if you want to use a USB or HDMI keystone you will have to file the opening to make it larger. Why didn't they make a standard keystone opening? The supplied keystones are CAT5e. CAT 8 keystones won't fit. They are too long. CAT7 and CAT 8 cable will be tough to work with but it can be done but only using the supplied CAT5e keystones.The good news is that the unit looks great once properly installed.The company has great customer support and are very nice. They admitted the keystone opening issue and said they are trying to get their supplier to change the design. In other words, the company selling this is not the manufacturer.

Don't use temple cut out your hole. The templet has you cut the base wings out of the floor and then the brass frame will not cover the whole cut out.

I recently completed remodeling my home office and outfitting it exactly how I wanted it with built in bookcases nice lighting, and my desk in the center of the room facing towards the French doors, everything turned out perfect for one thing...Enter the power cord leading to my desk from the wallI outlet.The GoodIf you have ease access to run cables, this floor box is an easy solution to eliminate the need for unsightly power cords running to your desk, but also the nuisances that come with that such as rolling chair obstruction and potential for tripping as well.While there are various floor boxes available at Amazon and home improvements stores, what set this model apart from other boxes was the additional gang with Ethernet ports which offers the benefit/option to hardwire your computer/peripherals to the router freeing WIFI bandwidth.The box is very well built and finished in a brushed brass color which doesn't look bad(if you happen to see it).In terms of functionality, the outlets are attached to spring-loaded cover plates with independent sliding latches that when disengaged pop-up fast presenting the outlets at an angle making it very comfortable to connect plugs into them.When not in use all it takes is to gently push on the covers retracting them into the box until the latch engages.InstallationThis was pretty straight forward which, setting the template issue aside, can be completed fairly quickly with minimal effort and common household hadn't/power tools and skills.An added benefit is that the three Ethernet outlets are the modular Keystone type, meaning that they are three independent jacks that snap into the outlet, therefore I don't see why they can't be reconfigured by swapping one or more for a telephone RJ-11 jack, or coaxial female F connector, or even HDMI.The Not So GoodDon't trust the instructions like I did, the template provided with the kit was far wider than the box, which cost me extra work replacing a hardwood floor plank, fortunately the original owners left a case of boards, otherwise my wife would have killed me.Another thing to note is that while the box is very well built, the hardware provided with it is of very poor quality. The kit comes with a seal to prevent moisture from getting into the box when cleaning the floor, cold air drafts, etc. however it was very thin and ripped instantly.The cover plate attaches to the floor housing with four brass screws which, you guessed it, got annihilated under very little torque. The frame the screws go into also succumbed as it is held in place by to tiny welds, this was fixable though.All things considered I'm very happy with it, the only reason for the low rating is that the inaccuracy of the template could result in costly delays, damage and repairs during an otherwise pretty straight forward and simple home improvement project that will definitely enhance the functionality and appeal of the room.

I needed to hook up two computer desks to power and Ethernet in the center of a room, not near walls. This box did the trick and was fairly easy to install. Electric worked as you would expect. Ethernet plugs were a bit troublesome, just because they are small and hard to pinch the clips to get in and out. I managed to put the whole thing together, only to find out I hadn't seated the plugs until they clicked in when I was putting it back together. So everything came back out and repeated the process. In the end, it worked as I needed and looks pretty good.
