Mandatory, must have in collection. This is not too heavy, not too light. Chapters are short and illustrated with clear examples of data, code and output. Comfortable to hold while reading in bed (and it is that sort of reference). You can download the data and try the examples yourself.

the examples are good, but I was able to find examples some of things I was trying to do on SAS.

Please use your money to get a better book.I am shocked that SAS Institute had published such an embarrassing statistical guide. The positive reviews must be Ron Cody's buddies, not statisticians.Each chapter took me 10min to go over and I was asking myself 'Is this it??'If someone spends money on a sas book they expect at least little bit more than a three liner syntax you can find online for free.I really ended up studying free sas documentation instead.Wish I could get my money back.

It states that it does not teach statistics, but in many ways it does. There are many SAS books out there, but this is one of thee best. Very well written.

This is a required text book for a course, and it is quite expensive, even used. But I got the digital version, and it stays on the server, and great.

A great way to learn by example. Statistics (application) focused versus programming focused. I downloaded samples of many SAS books onto my Kindle and went with this one.

I followed the examples. Definitely grew comfortable with the basic user interface since. Used SAS a few times on the job now.
