When I first installed this I was worried that it might be a little too long and that it would just get broken when I shut the hood but it worked perfect. The material is rubber like so it gives just a little which makes so that when the hood shuts if it hasn’t fully retracted it doesn’t get broken.

This hood release lever was made of a rubbery plastic. I thought to myself this was not going to last long with the heat from the engine. True to my theory, the clips that attaches to the pins snapped when I tried to open my hood to add fluid.I had to remove my front grille to get the hood open.Do Not Buy

The plastic where the pull rod hooks to the metal pins on the hood release is warped/twisted on the unit I received, so it doesn't sit flush where it mounts. Poor quality control it seems. However, it still serves its purpose in the end, which is what matters most I suppose, given the price.

This item fits just right, the just keep beaking this is my third one.But it is plastic so, it is expected to happen.

I needed this pole because the one on my 2001 Jetta broke and this fit perfectly.

I thought I was out of luck when the original broke or would have to pay a small fortune to the dealer to get a replacement. This pull handle replaced my broken one and worked great.
