Works as it should
I had an issue with my carburetor on my ferguson to20 tractor which caused me to crank on the engine repeatedly which ended up destroying the housing as well as breaking off some of the teeth on the starter. This will happen when running twelve volts into a six volt starter for long periods of time. I decided to purchase this item instead of rebuilding the old one, which I probably will someday over the winter. I did purchase a new carburetor and installed this new starter. Tractor rolled over and started right up without any issues. Just keep in mind that on some tractors like my Ferguson to20, in order to remove and replace the starter, the distributor needs to be removes as there is no clearance. I tried and there is just no way. It's not a big deal as long as you mark it properly so that you can replace it in the exact location and don't forget to tighten the bolt. For sure I would recommend to anyone looking to replace their starter. Works as well as the original did prior to being abused by me :(

Fitment Failure
Wished to use this starter on a total original 1953 Ferguson TO30 tractor which vendor's description implies a perfect fit replacement. NOT SO! F.Y.I. folks be very careful when searching a starter for your Ferguson tractor and save yourself some grief. A lot of vendors of this product are suppling Chinese starters that absolutely are too long and interfere with the distributor not allowing fitment unless the owner is willing to grind the starter housing, grind your tractor hold down screw, and fabricate a new type of distributor hold down bracket. The original starter has a nub on the armature end for the shaft bearing that measures 1/2". Many so-called Chinese replacement starters measure 7/8"-1". These ain't a gonna work folks without a lot of work. I suggest staying with Amazon vendors that are Ag savy and not just resellers of a product they have no knowledge of. Yea the price was good but the product was bad.
