Universal Bathroom Vent Fan Motor Replacement Electric Motors Kit SM550 Compatible with Nutone Broan 50 CFM120V Replace C01575 65100 EM550 EM750

The fan motor was easy to install (2 screws) and the fan blade just pushed onto the shaft. I replaced the old motor (approx 34 yrs old, maybe older) and everything lined up perfectly. Motor runs quiet. This is my 2nd motor installed, very pleased with product and cost is very reasonable. Installing new motor avoids purchasing a new bathroom exhaust fan which i found does not fit into the existing size factor in my ceiling, would have to cut into ceiling to fit a new unit. Replacing motor is "So much easier" !!!

I purchased this motor and fan blade for replacement in a Broan NuTone exhaust fan that was purchased in 2002, about 22 years ago. The overall dimensions of this motor and fan blade are the same as what was existing but this new motor is slightly smaller. The mounting dimensions are the SAME just a smaller overall motor. I had to disassemble the shaft and the bearings from the motor and reinstall them reversed to fit my specific application but that is a VERY simple thing to do and took about 90 seconds. The description on this item states that this is a reversable motor and this is how you accomplish that if you were not aware. The mounting studs and nuts were one size smaller than what I had on the existing old motor but it still mounted just fine. I believe that this replacement motor doesn't move quite as much air as the original motor did but only by a small amount. It is virtually silent though which makes it hard to accurately judge it compared to the one I removed which sounded like it was grinding corn with its old worn out bearings. For about $20 it would be hard to beat this and I believe it can be used to replace the majority of bathroom exhaust fans made over the last 30 years or so.

This did work for my fasco fans- I did have to make small modifications to shorten the fan shaft, but it worked great !

Perfect match & fit for my 25 year old Broan NuTone 50cfm unit. It was a very simple switch that involved removing the 2 nuts on the old one and using either those same nuts, or the ones included with the new unit. If you're not sure how to get the mounting plate out of the ceiling fixture, there are some good videos on YouTube, but if it doesn't go really smoothly, you probably need a different model. I don't know if the vent size matters- mine is the older 3", but most of the newer ones have a 4" exit line.

Installation was easy enough but it just doesn't move air like the builder grade unit it replaced. That may be fine for some but if your wife has bowel movements like a Clydesdale as mine does you'll want something with a bit more horsepower.

This fan came in one day. I'm regard to other reviews it did NOT come with the nuts. I used the ones from the old fan. No problem at all with that or the installation. Took literally two minutes. Works perfectly and super quiet. I highly recommend!
