Great soap for psoriasis problems!
The palms of my hands were so bloody from psoriasis that I couldn't hold anything. As part of my treatment, my dermatologist recommended I use Cetaphil's cream, which introduced me to the company's products. At the beginning of my treatment,I was using the sensitive skin Dove soap. But it stung my hands so much that I couldn't wash. So I went online to the Cetaphil website, and found this cleansing bar. The soap is so good that my husband has started using it as well for his itchy skin. The bar smells great: no flowery odor, just a clean scent that makes you feel fresh. And it LASTS. I got so tired of the lotion in the Dove soap disappearing when the bar got down to a quarter of its original size. The Cetaphil bar provides lubrication right down to the sliver stage. While I may pay a bit more for the Cetaphil bars, I can use them a LOT longer than regular soap. I definitely recommend this product for anyone who has skin issues!

Yaaaaaaasss! I love this soap and I usually hate bar soap!
I am not a fan of bar soap whatsoever. I hate the film it leaves on your skin. However, in an effort to produce less waste from plastics, I decided to try and find a bar soap that might work for me instead of tossing out a plastic bottle every time I emptied my body wash. I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, and on top of the gross film feeling most bar soaps leave me with, they also dry out my skin and make me itchy. Anyways, I use several Cetaphil facial products, so I figured they may have a product that would work for me. I was super skeptical and worried that ordering a product with so many bars included would be a total waste, but I made the gamble and boy, am I glad I did. This soap has a light, clean, scent. The bar lathers extraordinarily well. I can use it directly on my skin, but prefer to lather it onto a loofah and use it that way because I am adept at dropping the soap. Let's hope I never have to go to prison. The soap rinses completely (no gross film!), and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean, but not dried out or overly perfumed. I just love this product, a holy grail item in my book!

Great for dermatitis and eczema!
I have very sensitive skin, as does my husband and two young daughters. I have hand dermatitis and it is very difficult to find soap that I can use that does not destroy my hands. I have tried other sensitive skin soaps with no luck. This is the only soap that does not tear my hands to pieces. I can now bathe without worry. I used it on my daughters and watched their eczema clear up within a few days. And I had been using a special kids eczema soap on them! My husband's skin no longer itches or is covered in residue. The price seems like a lot, but really, when you have happy skin, does it matter? I also order the soap through Amazon Subscribe and Save and have it delivered to my door, by the case, at a discounted price, once a month. Just beware: Cetaphil also have an Antibacterial Soap---DO NOT USE THIS SOAP! I WILL TEAR YOUR HANDS AND BODIES UP, LIKE ANY OTHER ANIBACTERIAL SOAP! Be sure to buy the Gentle Cleansing soap. Also, the soap dissolves quickly, so be sure to store it away from pooling water or it will melt in the puddle of water. Buy a draining soap dish and all should be good. Great product and Amazon makes it easy to afford.

Its a cleansing bar, but still true soap :D
First, I think it's important to know what the difference soap and a detergent. Generally speaking, soap is saponified oils which is actually considered more natural versus a detergents are generally made up of synthetic sources. They both have there uses and are beneficial more for each person depending on their skin type. Everyone is different. Both soap and detergents are made to lift dirt and oils away from the skin to basically be rinsed away with the water. For more specific differences and similarities you'd have to look up specific ingredients and etc.I personally, didn't mind the cetaphil gentle cleanser. I'm giving it 5 stars, because it did do what it said it was going to do. Also because it is true soap. The ingredients listed are Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Tallowate, Water, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoate, PEG-20, Sodium Chloride, Masking Fragrance, Sodium Isethionate, Petrolatum, Sodium Isostearoyl Lactylate, Sucrose Cocoate, Titanium Dioxide, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate. May Also Contain Sodium Palm Kernelate, which are the actual ingredients after the 'come out of the pot' and have gone thru the saponification process. (Which is obvious from the sodium tallowate ~ which is basically rendered cow fat).I love this soap. I recommend it to everyone, and I've also heard the dermatologist also recommend it.Also, for a little additional info, for soap bars to make claims that they are hypoallergenic, or any other medical claims they have to go thru and basically get clearance from the FDA to make such a claim.

Great gentle facial soap that actually lasts
Lucky me that I've been blessed with "combination skin" -- meaning in some places I'm dry, in others sensitive, and in a few spots, I'm oily. Try finding a soap that will maneuver through that effectively without irritation. After a rigorous period of trial and error I happily settled on Cetaphil which I've used consistently since 2003. Previously I only had used the liquid soap because it's non-comedogenic, didn't dry out my face afterwards and actually cleaned effectively. At first I only wanted to use the bar for body washing but I've come to use this as my primary facial cleanser. The soap is really high quality not breaking or hardening after repeated use and lasts an impressively long time. Maybe there is something better out there but I sure haven't found anything close to this soap, and I'm not about to rub my face raw again in the pursuit of finding it.
