Sleek. Grippy. Worth It.
The build quality exceeded my expectations—the leather patches are a nice touch, adding both style and extra grip. It blends perfectly with my black leather setup, giving everything a sleek, cohesive look. The ergonomic design is another win. At first glance, the handle isn't vertically aligned to the X-T50's finger grip but once you hold it, everything clicks. It'll fit naturally exactly where your fingers rest.

Nice quality, but not for me.
Reviewing this item for Sony A6700. Great fitment and quality of materials. Fold out design allows access to menu wheel as advertised. However, in everyday use, I did not find it very helpful. Perhaps that is because I have been using Sony APSC camera bodies for so long that I have muscle memory which doesn't adapt to this accessory. There is already a raised area on the body to rest your thumb and blocking two dials (even with the swing-arm design) means not everyone will adopt the ergonomics. Your experience may vary.

Seems to be a great addition!
This arrived on time and seems to work very well. The build is strong and seems to be used on a regular basis. I would highly recommend this product. It fits in my camera bag very well and it does not get caught on anything. Looks like a get buy for my new Sony camera.

Imperfect fit, but solid otherwise
The grip was a little loose in the hotshoe, but i put a small amount of tape along the side and now it's snug and perfect.

Wiggle wiggle
Positives: Used on my Sony A7C II. Light weight, does not interfere with dials or buttons, rubber pad on the thumb and hot shoe seat.Negatives: wiggles a tiny bit in the hot shoe seat, kinda pricey.Addl comment: thumb levers are really not practical if you primarily use back-button focus.

Metal is too thin and will bend over time, poor fit and customer service
I purchased this JJC Deluxe Metal Thumb Grip TA-XT5 for my X-T5 back in March and have been using it fairly frequently. It appears to be a quality product, but has two major design flaws:1) On the XT-5, the thumb rest and cross bar are too close to the top plate of the camera and get in the way of accessing the rear control wheel on the camera.2) The other flaw is that the metal bar between the mounting shoe and the actual thumb rest is too thin and will bend over a period of time, especially when used with larger hands. I have a strong grip and rely more on my grip (with the shoulder strap wrapped around my hand several times). After using it for 4 months, the thumb grip is now bent downwards towards the camera top plate, interfering even more with accessing the rear control wheel. The camera is always in the bag when not in use and it has not been dropped, there is not a single mark on the Thumbrest.I became aware of this after the Amazon return window had closed and reached out to JJC last week directly, explaining the issue and kindly asking for a replacement, as I expected this product to be covered under some kind of warranty.I didn’t hear back from JJC customer service and have purchased a thumb rest for my X-T5 by a different manufacturer since. Hope this review helps JJC to design a better thumb rest (stronger, different metal perhaps) and also respond to quality related issues in a more timely manner.

Please don't buy this. Provides no grip. Materials are poor.
For whatever reason, this thumb grip for the Nikon Zf provides an even WORSE ergonomic experience than having no additional grip at all.Who will ever know why this manufacturer decided to make a thumb grip with no curve to provide leverage? Not I. Their other models have such a curve to hook around one's thumb. Weird.Even worse, the pad intended to add grip to the not-only-nearly-flat-but-also-tiny surface shifts and feels like it's peeling off. And finally, the whole structure of the little device flexes under the pressure of the photographer's thumb while holding the camera. This is the first hot shoe grip I've tried because the Zf was made without any rear protrusion for one's thumb, and a minimal front grip. While companies clamor to make a deeper front grip, the real necessity is a protrusion at the edge of the camera on the back, just below the rear dial, much like one can find on Fuji cameras. Nikon actually makes a baseplate grip that wraps around and provides this thumb piece, but it's 240-something dollars to import, and that's just too much. This grip could have solved the problem or eased people's ergonomic issues with the camera if built with a modicum of sense to the design, but alas, that's not what happened. This attempt at a solution is an utter failure. Please don't waste you money on this product for this specific camera model.
