Really good for step by step but not baby steps. Great color photos of paint steps. Detailed drawing to finished piece. Not every sea creature but a very good selection to get you started. Fun for summer wishes of the beach.

The book gets five stars since it does a pretty good job with a subject not often addressed. It could be better though like with so many art books it could use more step by step instructions. And I don't really consider birds as a part of "sea" life. I think it would have been better to offer more examples of coral reef or other underwater scenes. Two of the artist's works are truly gorgeous and make the book as far as I'm concerned. By showcasing different artists you get to see different approaches too.

I like everything about this book. There is a section of painting demonstrations by one of my favorite artists, Louise DeMasi!

What ever your art preference, this is a great reference. Since they're done in looser WC, they lack tight detail, but capture the essence of the sea life portrayed. The examples are representative of what you'd expect, and will serve the majority of artists, expect those striving for photorealism. A great resource for marine painters.

all the artists are talented, the book has amazing step by step photos artist quality to follow along with the professional artists.

I think underwater watercolor paintings are some of the most alluring, but its difficult to find ideas on how to represent water movement, light in water and underwater foliage. This book is a gem for ways to represent the underwater world.

Loved the paintings, I have painted with Hailey and watching her style and then seeing it printed was great! I can keep the book at home and review and see how to work the style into my skillset. Watercolor painting is intimidating and she makes it much more simple with breaking it down to basics.I am a fan, now and always.Next book she will also be a co-contributor will be on scenes from Texas State Parks. Can't wait...coming out in 2020-2021? LP

That help me easy learn & I love it!!!

The pictures in this book are exceptional. The colours are vibrant and the detailing sharp. The 4 artists have very different styles and collectively combine to offer inspiring works of art. Even if you have no intention of picking up a paint brush this book is pleasant just to look at. And at such a reasonable a price you cant go wrong. So why only 4 stars ? There are approximately 6 to 9 steps for each lesson. This is fine for 4 or 5 of the paintings. For the remainder however this is simply not enough, they are far to technical and advanced to even have a remote chance of attempting them. I'd say they're only 1/4 enough. One eg is the angel fish which appears 'complete' in step 5. However for inspiration and quality this book is excellent.

Best purchase I ever made and has helped our art club members to learn how to paint Ocean Art with ease. Thank you so much for printing such an invaluable commodity.

Superb book with plenty of step by step projects. The artwork is bright and modern and absolutely gorgeous.

Not had this book long, but some of the book is interesting on sea life.
