Monoprice 2-way Carbon Fiber In-Wall Surround Speaker - Dual 5.25 Inch (Single) Vari-Angled With Paintable Grille - Alpha Series Black

I am a big fan of Monoprice as they always seem to offer quality products for a fair price. These speakers are no exception. High-quality feel and weight; adjustable tweeters; relatively easy installation; great sound. There really isn’t much to complain about. When you are looking for best bang for your buck, Monoprice is hard to beat.

I installed these a few days ago, so the speakers are not even fully broken in yet, but they sound great. I have Polk and JBL ceiling speakers that are also 6.5” in these sound significantly better. Surprising Bass response considering it doesn’t have any purpose built enclosure.Build quality is good, I really like the spring loaded terminals and the magnetic grill. They only protrude from the wall about a quarter of an inch and aren’t very noticeable which is what I was going for even though the speaker is pretty attractive with all the carbon fiber.

When I decided to finish this wall, I needed to come up with an idea for doing in wall speakers that wouldn't disrupt the flow of the textured panels. The panels have some depth to them so trimming out an in wall would have been difficult. I found these and they fit the bill perfectly, I had room on both sides as well as the top. The speakers themselves have an adjustable angle and allowed me to position them perfectly, sound quality wise I am happy, they may not be the best out there but the price also matches what you get. I would say for most people this is more than they could ask for. My wife and kids think its amazing so I am happy. The first comment I get from all of my friends is, YOU PUT THOSE IN WRONG THEY ARE FACING EACH OTHER. I then pull a grill off and show them. Would surly buy again, well I did only I used the other version that is not adjustable in my bedroom home theatre in the 6.5" version.

The engineering leaves something to be desired. The binding posts are push-type, which is fine except the way they’re positioned makes it a real chore to get the wires into them.Also the mounting ears jumped out of their housing when the screws were tightened. We discovered that the screws all needed to be run in first, that is, tighten each one and then back it out before putting the speaker in the wall.Cosmetically they look nice, although they’re large, 10x14 and 6” deep. That depth may be a problem in a standard framed wall, where you’ll be 2” short on cavity depth.Sound is fine. I’m using them as surrounds but they seem pretty robust with good range and clarity. For the money they’re a good value.

Great sub for home theater system, clean look and puts out a lot of sound. Need a amplifier, but this sub fits perfectly between subs and sounds great.

Installed as front ceiling speakers replacing downward facing round speakers. Relatively Easy install. Once broken-in the speakers sound great and fill the sound space perfectly. Work well as either ATMOS high speakers or as additional front speakers in stereo or surround configurations. Very pleased with purchase.

These speakers are fantastic. Easy hookup. Sounds great. Definitely no complaints

The media could not be loaded. When speaker is placed in opening of the wall, some of the clips don't turn, they get stuck behind their own housing, and so they do never end up securing the speaker to the drywall. I have installed plenty of speakers in walls and ceilings (I'm a builder), but never had any issues before like I've had with this speaker. Also, I've painted plenty of speaker grilles before. This has to be done very carefully as it's easy to clog up the little holes. It's clearly stated in the instructions that this grille is paintable, so we did. It turned out terrible. Despite careful application, several holes got clogged. BTW, I do love Monoprice and as a builder I use several of their products regularly. But this speaker didn't work out and will be returned.

Sounds quite neutral and should blend well with a variety of speakers. They are not bass monsters but I'm using as front/side channel and they will be crossed over at 60Hz anyway. Recommended!

Easy to install and no issues

I use these as the surrounds behind the couch (I know that's not the right configuration, but it's the best I could do in this room.)They're built decently and the provided template was the perfect size. The planning to make sure they're level and even took longer than the actual install.They sound fine as the surrounds and it really adds to tv shows and movies. These are probably the best value in wall speakers with frameless grills you can buy.

Great speaker, well worth the price. Will be purchasing more in wall speakers from this manufacturer.

Overall these are great value for the money. Not super high end but most people would be happy with them. The one small thing is the clamping system which caused me a few issues before they finally grabbed.
