A reading of the Federal Rules of Evidence with no simplification or explanation included.
It's basically a guy with a very boring voice, reading line by line, the Federal Rules of Evidence. There's really no simplification or explanation of the rules, they literally just read them back to you.

Disappointing
The first thing everyone should know, is this really is an outline. It is not and explanation of the rules, it’s an outline. Outlines can be great and useful resources, but don’t get this audiobook thinking it’s anything else. Next, the quality of the recording is not wonderful. It sounds like some guy read this book in an empty room that has hardwood floors. Makes the tone of the recording poor. Finally, the reader makes mistakes while reading. Instead of recording this again to make it right and a clean recording, he just says it again right then. Struggles to pronounce some legal words and doesn’t even pronounce them the same each time. At one point, I had no idea what he had said, until he spelled the word he was trying to say. Then I understood and recognized that he just couldn’t pronounce the word. He pronounced it better the second time, but still spelled it. I did not make it even half way through this audiobook before returning it. Unfortunately for the author who put together a nice outline, a narrator can destroy that good work.

He doesn't understand what he is reading and his reading voice is unintelligible
Its like listening to Shakespeare read by a ten year old. They may be able to read it out loud but they have no understanding of what they are reading. The result is a monotonous and non-instructive experience. For instance, he refers the the federal rules of evidence as "FREE" Until about a third of the way through when he starts saying "eff are eee."

Pretty much just dictating the FRE...
Generally speaking, law study materials aren't going to be super exciting. But this is so boring. It feels like he's doing nothing but just reading the FRE out loud. That's fine if you want to listen to the exact rules, but if you're trying to use it for anything other than that, it's not going to be useful. I was trying to listen to it multiple times, and was bored to tears in less than 20 minutes each time. I have yet to be able to finish it because it's so unhelpful to me

Not Simplified, Not Perfect
it is painful to listen to the person on this audiobook. I got this to help study for the bar and i could not even last 10 minutes. I find the title of the book painfully ironic. The publisher needs to hire someone without a thick east coast accent and tell them to speed up their speech.

Captured the essence of the subject
Written by a practicing trial lawyer and a law professor for his own use. A must for all people in the legal profession.
