Its predecessor was a better fit.This unit is even more rugged than the previous model for the same phone. This is a conditional plus because, on the plus side it may add more protection, on the minus side it has become more bulky. Plastic instead of leather, as the previous unit was, cheapens it appearance. The larger of the see-through windows is not flat and cannot be flattened. It bubbles up along its long axis (z-axis), further cheapening this case.The fit is tight, which I regard as a plus. The belt clip is not designed to be removed, so taking it completely off isn't easy but doable. It comes off in two steps. The first step is easy, getting all the hardware off down to where it is nearly flush on the cover base is harder. I needed channel locks moving on opposite directions which brings with the risk that the plastic cover could tear, so be careful. MY WIFE DOES NOT WEAR A BELT and instead carries her phone in her handbag.If there is another version of this case, fitting the same phone WITHOUT the belt clip assembly, I've found it neither on Amazon nor on Turtleback's homepage.

I bought this for my husband to replace his original cell case. He was real impressed that it was made in the USA and made of really tough material. The only thing he has problems with is the metal clip. It is really bulky and is not as easy to release from his belt as his old case. Someone else may not find this an inconvenience. Other that , it is a well made case.

We used the case without the detachable belt clip portion to secure cell phones in an ambulance.From the manufacturer, the case is designed to hold your protect your phone during use. When you are done with the phone, you turn it upside down and slide it into a receiver that clips to your belt/waist. Turn it back right-side up and the phone is locked into place.But the piece of the case that locks into the belt clip also fits in the same clip that holds the microphone of a two-way radio, such as those found in our ambulances. My last similar holder was leather. Had to buy a new holder for a new Samsung Convoy 3, I was very skeptical after reading a lot of negative reviews about the fit of the leather holder. This fabric holder seems well made and fits good. Phone functions well in holder.

I purchased 2 of them. Mine fits my convoy3 just fine, but my wife has trouble with hers. The front fits well, but when she puts the back on she has trouble inserting the charging cable.I use the entire case and have added a lanyard and do not use the belt hook. My wife simply uses the front. It protects the screen well and camera and speakers are not impeded.
