Easy to install

Great speed control
Perfect. My wife complained all the time that at its slowest setting the ceiling fan was too fast. This controller, unlike our previous one, allows yoi to set minimum speeds.

Fan hums so loud! Maybe okay for a barn.
Makes the fan hum ridiculously loud. Many times louder than my dishwasher. Threw it away and replaced it with a Hunter 22691 control, which works flawlessly and silently.

May have a hum in the fan
It worked OK, however the one for the fan in the bedroom created a hum in the fan. We had to get a switch with low, medium and high settings instead of a variable speed to get rid of the hum.

Fan stalls....
My fan sometimes stalls suddenly in the midst of running fine at a certain speed. The only way to kill this stalling (and associated noise) is to turn off my fan using this switch.

Do not like switch because I ordered 3 a speed which it is advertised. It is a variable speed.

Works...till it stops working...then, buy another one. The knob gets broken way too easy. Not good to put it in where people with no brains will use it.

Not a 3-speed switch!
This is not a 3 speed fan control device. Read the information carefully. It is a fully variable fan speed switch... not three speed as it says in the title of the product.The title is misleading and led me to believe that this switch had three speed settings, which it does not. I am returning the product on the basis that I was mislead.
