Not difficult to learn.
I have used this product before about 10 years ago. It is very easy to use and it gives you many features and the flexibility to design your site however you want. It had its own FTP and comes with a manual.

no support
It's cheap, worth a look. For me not so good. You'll have to make up your own mind.

The product is definitely easy to work with
The product is definitely easy to work with. However, choice of sample sites is limited and unsuitable for most applications. It is impossible to add e-commerce features if one is not located in a region of Great Britain.

Powerful, Feature Rich & Registration File opening Problems
Serif WebPlus Essentials has a large variety of tools to help create websites. For a product that claims it is easy to use, you know that is not the case when you are given a product key and then the program asks for a registration key that you don't have. Not a good beginning. I have designed web site in plain HTML during my college days and had used Microsoft's now defunct FrontPage. WebPlus does make it easy to use their templates, add & remove items, customize fonts, colors and text, add maps, videos and if you are a business, shopping cart payment features like PayPal while it takes care of the optimization under the hood. There are plenty of self-help videos and tutorials to assist with creation. That is the easy part. I could not import a site I had already created in raw HTML to work on. Since I did not have the separate registration key, the program constantly whines about registration and makes use of other features unusable. I did not try the website account creation due to the hassles with registration. They want you to call them instead of an online solution which is difficult for my hours. Having worked with a wide variety of software programs, I prefer companies who have online or web based solutions. While this is a very powerful program filled with lots of extras, I personally would not recommend it because any software program that is supposed to help you create a website should be able to open a raw HTML text file. Find another program for your website if you have files already. If you want to start from scratch, this could work for you, especially if you don't have any or little HTML knowledge.

Software is ok, salespitches are not
Serif WebPlus Essentials has a relatively painless install. You can dismiss the registration and being using the product immediately. The software is only ok. If you just want to use one of their preinstalled templates, and edit text boxes and drop in a picture or two, this works well. But if given the (more expensive) option, I would rather use Frontpage or Publisher...or even Word to make simple webpage templates. Still, for the simple stuff a novice can plow through a few of the tutorials and design a beginner page. Obviously, if you can use a tenth of the functionality of Dreamweaver, you shouldn't consider this software. When you attempt to register the product and sign up for free webhosting, however, things get shady. You asked to buy an upgrade in order to create the true website that you want to create. The domain hosting is free for a year, but is rather limited. WebPlus Essentials does have built-in uploading options directly to your site, but honestly, I'm not sure it's any better than some cheap, well-known domain name/hosting sites that are available. Most are compatible with a range of software packages and they usually provide some simple, free, starter software to get you up and running. If your goal is to create an index with 2-5 subpages that mostly have pictures, text boxes, and links the free software from those sites might actually be easier to use than WebPlus Essentials. If you want to add in the next step in functionality, like a poll, then WebPlus Essentials set up 3rd party tracking and can begin to help you.WebPlus Essentials can help introduce a novice to the world of web design and hosting, but if you're serious about starting a webpage I would recommend doing a little more research and potentially trying out a cheap domain hosting site that provides free starter design software.
