really nice for daily use, makes shaving a breeze
overall i'm really satisfied with this head shaver. i haven't tried any others like this before and always wondered about em. now that i'm at a point in my life where my hair has thinned out and stopped growing on top of my head, i'd rather just keep myself completely shaved bald than look like a franciscan monk...so i've been using a regular razor, just a two blade with dollar shave club, and it's been such a hassle to shave that way and make sure i got all the spots around the back of my head... it's time consuming and the feel of the blade scraping on my skull gets old fast. so i've been lazy with it, just shaving about once a week just bc i hate doing it.now with this little guy here i can shave my head in the shower in just a few minutes and be confident that it got my whole head cleanly. so now i've worked it into my daily shower routine. personally i prefer to lather my head each time with some barbasol. i tried it dry once and never again, just didn't work for me, was a rough shave that way. i tried it with just water and it worked better but it was still rough to slide across my scalp, wasn't a smooth grip. lathering up my head first produces a nice smooth grip each time.i like that it came with so many attachments too. and a neat bonus is the precision popup razor for detail if you need it. but honestly i don't really use those things (the nose trimmer is awkward to use bc it's like holding a computer mouse up to your face, not really a well shaped device for that purpose). it's nice to have them available though.worth noting there are some offbrand replacement shaver heads for this available which are essentially identical and work just fine.oh, also the battery life has been really nice, lasts over a week on a single charge (that's being used only a few minutes a day on my part). i've just started a habit though of charging it each weekend. i don't really feel like exhausting it completely just to see what the battery life is. i don't really care at this point, i love this thing.

1 year later and still going strong - replacement blades are even better and more durable
I purchased this last Feb 2024 and very happy with the shaver. I shave my head and face with this shaver and no issues. The battery lasts about 2 weeks before the low batter red light starts to flash, using this on average for 2 to 3 minutes a day. Was very surprised on how close of a shave I can get from this shaver and accidently broke the blade attachment and ordered the Freebird replacement blades 3 pack. The replacement blades are actually made much more durable and stronger. For the price, the performance and durability very pleased using this product and would purchase another one in the future.

Perfect shaver but does it last
This shaver is one of the best I've ever used. The ease at which it shaves is amazing. It's quick and not awkward to hold. The ability to bring in shower is an absolute game changer had it makes for a more enjoyable process and makes cleaning it that much easier. The only downside I have is that 4 months later it will randomly turn off and not back on for a couple minutes. I'm trying to search for my Warrenty because I love this shaver but I'm nervous about longevity.

OK, but flawed
I used this shaver for 2 weeks. During that time I contacted Freebird several times regarding best use and maintenance. Their response was nearly instantaneous, friendly and helpful. But, finally, the shaver just did not work for me. I have tried various other handheld rotary head shavers and found them to generally fail pretty quickly, or be otherwise unsatisfactory. I read about how Freebird developed the PRO as an upgrade to the earlier Flex, and was hopeful. The comparison I made was to a Panasonic Arc 5, a device that the maker does not even recommend for head shaving, but which actually does an excellent job. Its problem is that shape of the shaving head is more suited to the flatter planes of the face than the curves of the scalp, so it just takes longer. The PRO looks to be well constructed although, except for the blade beads it’s mostly plastic. Here’s where the PRO was lacking for me:1. Its shave is just not nearly as close as the Arc 5, even with repeated passes2. The head assembly did not flex as much as others I’ve tried. At times, instead of cradling my head, it felt as though it was just sitting on top of it.3. Cleaning is more involved than I’m ready for. I put the basic head assembly under running water and a fair amount of gunk showed in sink water. But then, because there had been some recommendations that the head assembly needed to be disassembled, I did this, very carefully holding everything together, to running water over a freshly cleaned sink. More gunk. So, apparently this disassembly and cleaning needs to take place after every use. These spaces are incredibly tiny and it wouldn’t take much to affect performance. But because the PRO doesn’t cut too closely, I would need to use it daily. This coupled with the cleaning routine is just more hassle than I’m ready for. Finally, Freebird seems like a good company, except for their recommendation that the blade assembly be replaced after every 50 shaves. Either the blade assembly is not well made, or this is just a $ grab. I know of no other manufacturer of any similar device that would recommend replacement this frequently.
