I absolutely LOVE this helping hands assembly! The bendy hands have some recoil but not much at all, and when you have them set, they are solid. The magnet circuit board pointy pegs are brilliant! And I haven't tried it yet, but I suspect with the right screw size, you could mount your board to these magnetic pegs, at least one or two of them, to make sure the board doesn't come off the points.I am a magnet person. I hope that they do not find that magnets harm humans someday down the road because I have them everywhere on my bench. So now I can use some of them, especially the ones with screw threads, on this wonderful steel plate to increase my options while working.My computer desk is two level and uses a metal frame. So the parts from this, the hands especially, work GREAT on my desk as they stick to anywhere I have a metal frame. Because of this, I am ordering more.The hands are great too! Not just designed to fit into the end of a bending extrusion, but also has a locking screw. My GOSH I wish they had this available 50 years ago when I tinkered as a kid!!!For all the money I blew on useless hand-holding gear, I could have saved it and bought many of these!The Magnifier is pretty good. The metal clamp base is impressive! You have to get familiar with the optics and learn how far to keep your head back and how far to keep your target away from it. For about a day, I always saw double, but once I got use to it, it worked GREAT! The options are ridiculous... 10 brightness options and something like 4 or 5 white wavelengths. I am looking at mounting a tiny camera to the nut and bolt hardware they used to mount magnifier. .Speaking of nuts and bolts, this thing has nice nuts and bolts hardware and good solid construction. Locking nuts, strong springs, and if you are interested in this sort of thing, you are probably doing what I did when I got it... already thinking about modding it for your specific uses.I bought the clamp also because it looks great for rework, and who knows what else I can figure out for it. Haven't used it yet but looks to be the same nice construction.I am a major skeptic and rarely give a great review. I find issues with everything, so my wife says. But this purchase REALLY impressed me and I am finding new joy working with it.Kinda pricey. You get what you pay for. For me it was worth it!

This is a lifesaver. I have worked on micro electronics as long as I can remember and I don’t know how I did it before I got one! The mags are super strong so don’t get your fingers in the way when you attach the arms to the baseplate. Solid construction and well engineered. Powder coated and rugged. The hands have adjustable alligator clip “hands” that can be tightened with thumb screws. The thumb screws are OK but the alligator clips can slip a little. The center “hands” has a single point tensioning knob that tightens the entire arm all at once when your ready and can be moved just about anywhere. LOVE IT!

I like to think i’m pretty decent at soldering considering i’ve probably soldered hundreds of wires connectors and so forth, but the simple process of soldering always took longer and with more curse words than necessary by stuff always moving. The old cheap helping hands i got a year ago were trash. I really didn’t think i could get something this nice online. Thankfully- these are delightfully high quality and JUST what the doctor ordered. The clamp is a minor delight of mechanical engineering and is PERFECT for holding XT60 and XT90 connectors while soldering. These aren’t even that expensive at all, i don’t know why i didn’t look sooner. The magnets are just strong enough to not budge and are still nicely moveable. Nice heavy and sturdy base, quality alligator clips (although i did have to double up the heatshrink on a couple of them) are great too. Somebody who actually solders and knows and cares about what they’re doing clearly designed these. Bravo, this is my new all time favorite soldering accessory and i have an FR-301.

I’ll admit I originally looked elsewhere due to the price but came back to this as other options appeared inferior. Holy cow am I glad I purchased! The quality is outstanding and every piece is magnetic so it’s highly customizable. My previous one was too small of a plate and had fixed arms… this one can amend to whatever project you’re working on and the plate is heavy and durable so it doesn’t move or topple. The arms truly do have a wide range of stable movement with minimal bounce back only in certain circumstances. Bounce back is critical to avoid when you need to align pcb for example.This is just a solid product, very well designed!!

Tried using this in my shop. 1st to go was the light as it kept getting in the way and kept hitting my helmet on it. Plate went immediately as I stuck the magnetic arms to my welding. They lost their flexibility and began to droop rather badly, but I didn’t move them away from torch. Great concept, as long as you move them away from heat source as soon as metal is tacked. I don’t recommend these for welding unless you move them as soon as metal is tacked. They can be useful,

Seems like good quality and works very well. I had an old cheap style for 15 years ago... finally got to upgrade. Many fun quality projects to come 🧑‍🔬
