I would recommend it, for the price and speed/reliability of this rig its worth every penny.
This review is for TekBoost vendor supplied Dell Precision 5820 w/ Xeon W-2133, 128GB RAM, Nvidia M5000 Graphics Card, 512GB SSD + 3TB HHD & Windows 10 Pro 64bitI never write reviews but this vendor earned it (in a good way).I paid $1220 and some change after tax and paid extra for expedited shipping. It arrived within 4 days of purchase. The computer was well packed with foam inserts in a heavy duty box.I was not expecting much, I figured it would be pretty beat up & dirty… I say this because my experience with most “refurb” outlets is this: They just use some canned air and throw the computer in the box and turn a quick profit. Not so with this Dell! TekBoost gave it a great cleaning. More importantly the computer came with all the right drivers for M5000 graphics card preinstalled; all ready to go. The computer is in excellent condition. No major scratches/bends/crack/engravings. No missing parts. Inside was well cleaned. My computer came with x8 16GB RAM and an optional DVD burner.Be aware that you will receive a computer with an internal PCIe NVMe SSD (not the flex bay one in the listing photos). My computer came with a decent Dell PCIe and 512GB NVMe SSD installed with Windows 10 Pro 64bit preloaded to it. It is fast, reliable and works. Also has 3TB HHD in flex bay for file storage or back up.The 6 core Xeon W-2133 does not have the fasted max clock speed, however it has an excellent amount of L2 cache (6MB) and is capable of handling 512GB of DDR4 RAM without issue (has 4 memory channels & 85.3GB/s memory bandwidth). It performs tasks much faster when you actually need it to (as in all the time). Other similar priced processors have higher max clock speeds and 8 cores; however during normal tasks they don't end up performing as quickly as the 2133 due to having less L2 cache and slower memory bandwidth. Most other similar priced processors are also limited to only use 128GB of DDR4 RAM. Overall this processor is great, and to be frank will perform most tasks faster even with a slower overclocked max speed. This GPU is a good match for the 5820; which is capable of handling up to 512GB or DDR4 RAM.The Nvidia M5000 is absolutely excellent. I had read mixed reviews (concerning to me considering this card retailed for $2k). However after some deep diving into the reviews; it appears the card is not exactly optimal for *Gaming*. However, for my workstation used for streaming and CAD programs it has been absolutely stellar.Note: if your the average consumer you may be considering plugging this computer into a HDMI TV. This GPU has DP++ ports (no HDMI). You will need a *passive* DisplayPort to HDMI adapter cable to hook it up to a TV (even then you will probably be limited to 30Hz @ 3840x2160; 60Hz is hit or miss and depends on your TV if you can get stable 60Hz). If you have a nice monitor with DisplayPort your all set, the output is fantastic. Its been over a month since I purchased this Dell and it has been powered on and in use for basically that entire time period. I have experienced absolutely no problems with it.Over all this was an excellent purchase. IMO its an excellent deal at this price. This Dell 5820 rig with the CPU, RAM & SSD options alone make it worth the money. Add in the M5000 and its a genuinely decent deal.So yes, I would recommend it. Its probably overkill for most consumers, but for the price and speed/reliability of this rig its worth every penny.Don't take my word for it though, make sure to research everything before laying down your hard earned money.-Kyle

Great Value, Quiet and Powerful - Dell Precision 5820 Xeon Tower Workstation
The refurbished/renewed Dell Precision 5820 Xeon Tower Workstation is quiet and fast.Pros- Great value for the performance delivered- Excellent build quality- Windows 11 Pro included- Excellent documentation from Dell's website- Plenty of power, 950 watts, for expansion compared to consumer models at about300 watts- Four front accessible SATA disk caddiesCons- While testing hot swappable SATA disk concept, the drive disappears in file explorer.I may need to investigate hot swapping further.UEFI/BIOS access re-enabled the SATA hot swapped drive(s).Overall, this is an exceptional product.

SNAKES IN THE GRASS
The absolute worst customer experience.. I received my 5820, both graphics card did not work without an adapter.I called support, the agent notated my order number and name, she declared someone would call me back, they never did. I wanted an M.2 to work, Every driver updated, the PC never saw the drive. Went all in bios. The worst part is, the PC is advertise as 6 core. Bios declared that is a lie, the PC is only 4 core. Horrible business, they LIE, cheat, and do not help with the crap they sold. I am returning the machine..Included a Pic of bios that shows 4 count core, not 6 as advertise. How horrible of business must you be to LIE.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE HOME COMPUTER
This "WORK STATION" is big and it is heavy. BUT its internal expandability (eight RAM sockets, multiple hot-swappable drive bays, and a spare 5" bay) makes it the last computer you will ever need to buy. To me it is worth way more than twice as much as the $553.00 I paid for it.It arrived several days early, completely protected by blown-in high density foam in a heavy cardboard box. Unboxing it was real work. The foam with its plastic wrap had to be cut and broken away to extract the computer.Internal access to the guts is super "no tools" easy and the interior is beautifully laid out and "laboratory" clean. It was obviously a corporate/business network computer, so you need to add WiFi and blue tooth cards or dongles (not included). It immediately connected to my home LAN network as if it belonged there. The built in sound is adequate and distortion free with my small stereo speakers. It played Garth Brooks "Friends In Low Places" loud enough for my wife to tell me to turn it down! Sure I did.NOW: You should know this computer comes with the latest Microsoft Operating System "GOTCHA" .If you start it connected to the internet (like I did) it will lock you into logging in with a MS account (no option) and immediately begin installing Windows 11 Pro. There are plenty of work around instructions on the internet that will allow you to keep Win 10, if that's what you want. Just be aware. My only complaint is that it arrived with one of the hot-swappable drive trays missing. I ordered a replacement for $18.00, not wanting to leave any open holes. This may truly be my last desktop computer.I also ordered an $89.00 CD/DVD/BLU_RAY drive from Amazon to fill the spare 5" drive bay. All in all it still cost a lot less than a new one and there is absolutely nothing that can fail that I can't fix, so I am satisfied.
