Extermination, Anyone?
My last insect zapping racket, made by a different manufacturer, finally quit after some years on the job, so I decided to rely on the "Amazon's Choice" label and try this one.I also liked the unusual "blue light attractant" on this model, a new and unique feature.Well, the racket definitely kills insects, but I find the medium size racket head of the one I ordered to be a little smaller than that of the zapper racket I had before. So -- if you're looking to kill insects in the air, as opposed to assaulting them on surfaces -- you might want to opt for the large racquet ZAP IT! offers, which I imagine would increase your chances of bringing down the buggers with the least effort. In my case, my primary prey are the little moths that love to attack my wool clothes, a handsome herringbone winter overcoat key among them.Even though I have hung one of those expensive German pheromone moth traps on the coat tree next to the coat, I still often find one or more of the little buggers picnicking on the herringbone. That's when I deploy this racquet to maximum effect, holding it flat to the coat and zapping the intruders with a mighty KAPOW!So as I write this, I haven't found any success attracting flying moths to the racquet using the selectable blue light. In fact, given how flat the light lies relative to the plane of the racquet's surface, I have to wonder how effective the feature really is, though the idea certainly seems a good one.Have any other bug tennis enthusiasts found that the blue light increases the number of service aces?Nevertheless, this racquet certainly does the job on surface-munchers, and I appreciate the USB-rechargeable battery. Thumbs up -- and bugs down!

You get what you pay for, and it works! But keep a few things in mind
For one, it works, no real issues there. It's exactly what it says it is, an electric bug zapper shaped like a tennis racket. But a couple of things to keep in mind. This thing is LIGHT and PLASTIC, meaning it's fragile.Don't go smacking any hard surfaces at full strength with this thing. It's for waving around in the air, not a fly swatter for hitting a desk or wall.Second thing, don't hold the activation button down or leave the switch for "always on", it drains the battery super fast! So does the light function. If you want it to last a long time between charges, set the switch to only come on when you push the button.Next thing, the size of the bug you are hitting with this thing matters.Smaller bugs like mosquitos, small moths, small flies, etc, no problem. They are dead right away. But the bigger bugs? Like a horse fly for example? You can hit them and hear the electric pop, but they can either still fly away or are only stunned for a few seconds and trying to take off from the ground. And the bigger ones can get stuck in the metal grid too, so if you hold down the button when one does get stuck, you end up frying it and making a really bad smell. (co-worker found this out when they hit a big fly and held the button down rather than letting it go as soon as they heard the pop. A bit of smoke and a bad smell >.<)So if you are going after bigger bugs with this thing, you have to hit them multiple times, or keep them in contact with the grid long enough. But, at least it's a safe manual zapper, because it has 2 sections of grids. One in the center of the hoop that actually does the shocking, and another layer on each side a little separated from that so that you can't accidentally zap yourself or another person. So, yeah, other than being careful about the battery charge and the size of the bugs being zapped, decent product for the price.

Weird that this was my favorite buy of the year
I use this to kill mosquitoes and dang is it satisfying! You hear the zap and see the sparks, it might not kill them immediately, but they'll go down and spin in a circle and then die 😆Flies will need many zaps, they'll go down the first time but will recover in a few seconds - make sure they don't! 😤It can even get gnats but the really small ones are a hassle, they mostly fly easily through the holes. The blue light is useless, I don't find that it attracts anything. The charge lasts a long while and using this is easy, I find that if I don't swat too fast it works better 😁

What a let down!!!
I had been using one for years that I bought at the Ace store where I worked. I'm talking 12-15 years. It looks similar but is larger. The switch gave out. This new one sounded great because of the rechargeable battery. I put it on charge as soon as it arrived, all rechargeable items come with some charge on them. I tried plugging the one into 3 different computers, no red (showing it needs charging), no green light (showing it was charged. Left it on for several hours, tried a different USB cable. No charge! Notified Amazon and got a message that they had added a card credit to my account. Next time we order anything they will add the $25 credit, and ... no need to return the zapper!!!! Well, what doesn't work is the "recharging" light. Ran it down over night, plugged it in and left it all day. This morning it's working great. Try this before you want a refund.
