Great, lightweight binoculars for hiking and/or travel. Very clear to at least 1/2 mile or more, and very easy to adjust to different eye vision.We took them on a trip to Ireland in Oct/Nov. See photo I took in my hand to see how small they are.I had searched every review for "best affordable binoculars" and almost didn't buy these. I always look at the 1 star reviews first (since many 5 stars may not be real...). But I took my chances, and it paid off!We use these all the time now, and take them in the car to see the birds, etc.Highly recommend!

Love these! Small and lightweight.

Great small binoculars to leave in the car in case I see an unusual bird. Also handy to keep by the window overlooking your bird feeders. The most important thing, however, is the image quality is excellent! Something I would expect from Nikon.

Good clarity, easy to use and carry. Good value for the price. Minor drawback is smaller field of vision.

Everything works very nicely, no play in the focus mechanism, tack sharp and bright image, better than anything else I've ever tried used, lightweight. One caveat, if you need to switch between someone wearing glasses and someone not, its a real pain to fold down the rubber eyepieces, just plan on not using glasses. Not petit, but the weight is surprisingly low.

Over the years I've bought 4 of these binoculars: one for myself and four for gifts to young children. Often people are attracted to binocular that are to powerful for their need, requiring very stead hands and affording a narrow field of view. These have the ideal combination of magnification and field of view for the money. My only complaint is that lens covers are provided only for the eye pieces and not the objective lenses. By the way, as and aside, never give cheap junk optics to a child - they will just discourage them from using such optics. This is especially true of microscopes. Go for quality of optics and good mechanics, and avoid claims of high power. The child will be far more likely to use and be inspired by them, and they will be potentially useful throughout his/her life.

This is my third pair: one for each car (my partner is a birdwatcher, so these come in handy for me to see what she's looking at), one for the windowsill looking out into our back yard where the bird baths are. Strong enough for good detail, not so strong that the image shakes with minor movements. Lightweight, handy, just perfect little Nikons! Worth the price for sure, and very durable.

Got these to replace Travelite 10x25 I bought 20 years ago that broke from bad fall onto hard floor. The 10x are almost too light weight for the magnification, the 8x are much easier to gain a stable image. Good light gathering, clear image, well collimated, very light and easy to use. These are probably the best mid range binos in this size/weight. Spend less and the optical quality won't be as good, spend more and you'll be nervous about them getting banged up in transit.
