This is my first seed blocker, and I can see it lasting for years and years. All components are very sturdy and assembly was a breeze. I have found that loading it upside down is a little easier, and you will likely need to experiment with the wetness of the soil. A++ all around.

Once I had the ingredients added to the buckets, I dumped them both into my lawn cart, mixed it up thoroughly by hand and filled the 1 gallon bucket and ½ of one of the 5 gallon buckets with water. * Note: the 5 gallon bucket will be used the clean off the soil block tool while making the blocks. I discovered that a clean tool is the best way to get good solid blocks and left over material stuck to the mold will cause your blocks to break apart when ejecting.The 1 gallon bucket is for adding water to the mix. For the amount of mix used here, a little less than 2 gallons of water seemed to work right for me. I added the first gallon of water to the mix and began working it by hand in one corner of the cart. I did not use all of the dry mix at first and played with it until I had a consistency that you could grab a handful of and squeeze out water from while holding together. As I began to use what I had mixed up, I brought in more water and more dry mix so I always had material of the right consistency to fill the block tool with. The flat walls of the cart proved to make packing the tool much easier so I recommend trying to find a square container to mix in and not something curved. The key here is to really pack the slurry mix into the molds. I would jam the block tool into the mix and then press the tool against the side of the cart with substantial force to pack as much as I could into the tool. Then I would scrape the excess off by dragging it up against the side.

It's a bit difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a great product.

Wish I would have read the reviews on this one. I have a 1/2 soil blocker so I just assumed this next size up would be about the same. Nope. It is not assembled & has no instructions at all - so it very well could be missing pieces. Metal feels much more flimsy than my other blocker. Will be returning this one.

I finally broke down and got this and I'm so glad that I did. Easy to use and my seedings are so healthy. Transplanting made so much easier

Missing parts just like what has been reported by others. The bolt for the shaft was not in the parts package. Hopefully a trip to the hardware store will find the proper size. Made in China so this might be metric Threads and difficult to find. It looks like this problem has been reported for about a year now why doesn’t the manufacturer correct this? Off to Ace hardware :(Update: seller has contacted me to replace the part or offer a refund but the replacement will take up to one month so I canceled the sale and asked for a refund. He acknowledges that the latest shipment from manufacturer to Amazon is missing this part and seller has recalled that stock.

I could have gone to the smaller size to make more, but I didn’t want to make more cubes.The smaller ones could have came in hand for like quick planting like cilantro, peas, carrots and lettuce.These blocks worked just fine! I planted many vegetables.

The media could not be loaded. Works well! Full disclosure, I have never used a soil blocker before. Makes uniform blocks. Feels very well built. Easy to clean. I will update after I use it more!Update 04/29: I LOVE this blocker. It is extremely sturdy and I have made well over 100 blocks easily. I also purchased the 3/4 inch micro blocker that another company makes and the square plugs that this blocker has fit perfectly. I did not have issues with assembly or the handle as another reviewer has stated.The plants respond very well to the blocks. I have been using miraclegro potting mix or the Walmart brand potting mix. Just be sure to sift the larger chunks out and you’ll be all set!

The hole for the handle to be inserted into on the inside plate was not even drilled and there was no bolts or washers etc to construct it even if i drilled the hole and bent the metal to reach under the handle. Complete trash do not buy.

No lo recomiendo, trate de hacerlo funcionar con una pieza que mande hacer pero no funciono, nisiquiera viene con algun instructivo, pesimo artuculo
