7.2 V - 24 V Electric Drill Speed Control Switch Cordless Drill Switch

Apologies for the long review. I bought the switch trigger to replace a defective switch in a 15+ year old GTV drill. Its my go to drill so I wanted to repair it. I recently had the battery pack rebuilt, but the trigger was working intermittently. Bought this product hoping that it would do the trick. Expecting that I would have to slightly modify or epoxy it into place. Tuned out it fit perfectly like a glove. All I needed to do was disconnect the old wires we connect the wires on the switch. Works like a charm. No modifications were necessary. Even the slide switch that controls for the forward/reverse fit perfectly. I am planning to buy another just to keep it on hand as a spare. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to retrofit a cordless drill. By the way my drill is an 18 V drill and the switch works perfectly

The switch was installed on a Ryobi 18V drill. It smoked and burnt out on the third try. The item description states a voltage range of 7.2 - 24 Volts, but if you look at the second to the last picture in the description, it says12V. Obviously, if the rating is 12V max, anything over that will burn it out. The headline description is misleading. Wish I had looked more closely at the pictures. Do not purchase this cordless tool trigger if your project is 12 volts or higher.

I ordered this twice. The first time it did not work, the switch did not allow variable speed or rpm control, it only turned the motor of the drill fully on or fully off. The second one which was a replacement for the first one works fine. It does variable rpm and speed and the LED actually works. So I am pleased with the product.

Motor runs, barely, then starts to smoke. Works with original switch, but that switch won't reverse due to worn direction lever. Absolutely not a "drop in" replacement.

I bought despite some bad reviews. I had absolutely no issues, it worked great.

It works but at first it was smoking, and the wiring was correct for my reciprocating saw so then I kept messing with the power trigger think it would burn up completely. Then eventually the smoking stop, but it still works, good for now. Haha

I purchased one of these switches although it had bad reviews. The switch is junk, shorted inside just like others described all it does is smoke. I am learning that Amazon sells almost anything but some of it is just junk. I am out 7.00 but I will never take a chance again. Message here is pay whatever from a reputable source.
