Good wire. Coated so it won't scratch your walls. Can hang heavy mirrors securely. And even comes with securing crimson so the wire won't undo. Great product ! Bill Buron

It is very difficult choosing some things online but I took a shot at this coated hanging wire for my larger paintings. As an artist, finishing a piece is almost as important as the actual painting of it so I was looking for a strong coated wire that would be easy to work with.Mind you, I did not use the metal 'fasteners' that came with the spool because I was not confident they would hold. The metal was so strong that I couldn't get them squeesed tightly enough to really secure the wire so I use my good old school method of knotting 10 times and then finishing with masking tape at the ends. Works like a charm.

Works great for hanging heavier pictures.

Does the trick. But need wire cutters to cut. The crimps are a bit too thick to crimp.

I have used this wire to place on the back of painting in order to hang them. This size wire will hold the paintings I do, and I can easily manipulate the wire to make nice neat twists when completing the technique. It’s also plastic coated so I don’t hurt my hands.

This is very sturdy wire which makes it slightly stiff and inflexible. I am used to using lighter weight wire that you just twist around itself to secure it to the frame. This wire came with crimps to secure the wire as it is too rigid to easily twist it securely. This is great wire but it is overkill for what I needed. Maybe Next time I’ll try the 50 lbs wire.

I am an artist who has framed her own work for 15 years. I always like a coated wire, as I find it more professional looking than the cheap uncoated wire. This wire won’t stay wrapped around the base wire , and uncoils very easily. I threw out both of the spools I ordered, and wouldn’t trust it to hold my work securely.

I like the coating on the wire and ease of use. While I hung a rather small piece of framed art (16x16"), I’m confident it would hold a huge work.
