I just unwrapped the new rug and I'm very disappointed. Contrary to what others have received and reviewed, this rug is thin and of low density. The quality of the yarn is low and the workmanship isn't very good. I hope you can see in my photo that this rug is about 1/3 the density of the old rug (rolled up on the left), and the yarn is flat and lifeless. I purchased the old rug 3 years ago at a big orange box store for about this same price and this Safavieh rug doesn't come close in quality. Additionally, this rug is cream and beige (and the colors are okay) but I started picking up what I thought were loose black or navy pieces of yarn only to find they were woven into this cream colored rug.I am posting this review to give a differing opinion of all the 4 and 5 star reviews I saw on this rug. The quality of both material and workmanship is low. For a couple hundred bucks I didn't expect luxury but I expected an at least acceptable rug and not something that feels like walking on a beach towel. The photo shows the old similarly priced rug I'm replacing rolled up on the left and the new Safavieh cream/beige rug on the right. I'll look at different brands.

The shipping for this rug took 3 days longer than expected but I didn’t mind because I thought I was getting a great deal on an awesome Safavieh rug. I have two other similar rugs that I’ve ordered from Amazon and I LOVE them. This one came in and despite the description boasting a 2” pile; this carpet barely measures @ 1/4”. It is cheaply made and is not soft at all. I don’t know if I got a bad batch or what but if I would have known this is what I was getting, I definitely would’ve ordered something else.

Oh man, this is the third Safavieh rug I've purchased and I just LOVE the other two. The Milan and the Hudson. I assumed since this was the same company and it was still a shag rug that it would be the same quality but boy was I wrong! The quality on this line is a far shot from the other two we've purchased. I was immediately disappointed as soon as I felt the corner as I was unrolling it. I can see through to the backing and it feels so coarse compared to the better quality rugs by this company.That being said, for the price, you're still getting a big rig (mine was an 8x10) for far less than you can most anywhere else. And once I fluffed it up it looked better, but I can't imagine the feel will improve. To be fair, if I'd never experienced the magic of the Hudson and the Milan rugs I probably would have been just fine with this one, but if you know and love other Safavieh rugs and think this will be the same, think again! Spend the extra and go for the extra thick 2 inch pile.

Since I was terrified to order this rug, and only relented based on others good reviews...I thought I'd return the favor for others that may be hesitant.This rug looks great.I've looked locally for weeks and almost paid way more for a rug that was not what I really wanted.The shipping was crazy fast and as a single chick with a car, very nice to have Mr FedEx do the heavy lifting.I just unrolled it and it's already pretty flat on the corners. I fluffed it by hand and that's it.The diamonds in the pattern are maybe 12 inches wide and the color is a bit muted and subdued. Which I wanted because I think less sharp contrast will be best for me. The tan is light and in my lamp light it almost has gray undertones.I can't speak to durability but I can tell you it looks really nice and so far, I'm a happy camper.

I ordered this rug 8x10 light grey and ivory for my living room. After reading reviews I pretty much knew to what to expect. It is a nice rug, not very thick but still looks nice, easy to vacuum and this color does not show much dirt so far as I have pets and small children. I also ordered matching runners that I like as well. Certainly would recommend if your looking for a decent but affordable rug

I honestly thought this was a joke.....talk about bait and switch. This is nothing like the rug I had ordered, this “thing” I got in unbranded, thin and looks like an absorbent pet mat. It’s really laughable, I had to triple check the shipping label to confirm this was really my box.....it’s like a really bad knock off from some dark alley in China I don’t know. The box came in super damaged and used looking inside of a larger perfectly fine Amazon box. It’s pretty strange, anyhow at least Amazon is gonna refund after I ship it back. Sucks I can’t just get the real rug I ordered instead....be sure you get the right rug!!!!

Pretty and simple. Not very thick for those who want a really thick one. This is just right for my room. Any thicker and wont be able to slide the door above it. Straightening wasn't an issue, might take a little longer for the corners to flatten completely. I have a small anti slip pad underneath- but the rug doesnt seem to slide and shift over my wooden floors regardless so i dont think ill need to invest in a bigger pad. I don't think you'd want one of those rugs where there's high traffic + shoes, especially if you get the light colour. Vacuuming was straight forward. Hope this rug is durable! Pleased so far, especially for this price. Recommended.

I purchased this rug for a transition area at the bottom of our staircase. It is a high traffic area where I wanted to protect the carpet and it's working perfectly for that purpose. It is a more thinly woven rug, but I knew it would be, since shag is usually a looser weave than a plush rug, and it's not important for this use. I wanted to add some interest and texture to our, otherwise, mostly monotone, plush carpet while protecting it. It does exactly what I wanted it to do and more.On a hardwood or tile floor, I might not be as satisfied if I wanted something cushiony and plushy soft. I wouldn't recommend it if that's what your looking for. I feel that you'll need to spend more for a rug of that caliber. I would expect to.Beyond this, it hasn't lost threads or disappointed me in any way so far, so I'm thinking I got my money's worth. I like it a lot and recommend it if you have similar expectations as mine. I'm quite happy with this attractive and economical rug!

What you see is what you get!Great product for a great price!It is a bit stiff when you open it up, but after a few heavy rounds of vacuuming the fibres soften! Would suggest underpadding though!

This rug is great! It’s soft and shaggy - some of the reviews said it wasn’t as soft as they were expecting... but it’s rug, not a blanket! So it’s exactly as I expected out of a shag rug. It’s comfortable on the feet and I can pass over it with my vacuum easily. Great value for the price

its much smaller then i expected.And came flat it needed a lil bit of fluffing other then that it was ok.A lil expensive for a small rug

This rug was perfect for where I wanted it. It's decently soft. I was happy about that. The price I got this 6x9 rug was great. The thickness.... meh it's ok. If you can afford an underlay you may want it. Not so thin you can see the backing through it, but it's hard laying on the floor on it. I am overall very satisfied with my purchase.

I like the way it looks but for a shag rug it is not very thick. Lying on it, you would think you were lying on the hard floor. Wouldnt buy again
