Bulb screwed right in and shone like the sun

I had a rough around the edges antique mirror and decided to build my own tilting, lit vanity mirror, but couldn't find a light fixture I liked. So I used these lampholders to make my own. They arrived ok in bubble wrap. The leads are aluminum rather than copper, as expected at this price. They were uniformly constructed and had no problem taking a bulb. They come with machine screws already inserted for mounting, which is why I knocked off a star. If for some reason, such as mine, you don't want or can't use those screws they are difficult to remove without bending the negative cup, so it took caution to do so and not crack the ceramic. Knowing to be careful of that, I would buy them again.

The text description indicated that I needed the 10085-005 (w/mounting bushings) - but the image was of the 10085 (w/mounting screws plainly visible). Whereas the image of the other number (18005) showed only the front side, from which the screws (or bushings) are not visible. Not knowing which to trust - the text or the image - I went with the image and ordered the 10085. Bad move, and an unwanted delay to return and reorder. It's enough to renew my appreciation for the benefits of going local....

The mounting screws, standard 6-32, are a bit short and permanently installed in the socket. Otherwise the socket seems well made with good wire terminations

Thought I was going to have to purchase a $65.00 outdoor garage light when one of five matching lights quit working. About to place the order, I figured I didn't have much to lose by dismantling the the light piece-by- piece... when I discovered the problem was just a defective piece of wire! I yanked the socket and looked on Amazon for a possible match. Worth the gamble, and I saved quite a bit.
