Great quality at a great price
I'm a die-hard Verbatim user. However the last few batches of Verbatim DVD+R DL spindles I purchased yielded about 4-6 bad copies per 25 discs. That ratio is far too high especially at around $1.60 - $1.80 per disc. Also, to help minimize those issues I usually burned my 8x discs at 2-4x for reliability on my ASUS DRW-2014L1T drive (with latest firmware). I decided to give the Optical Quantum discs a try.At about $0.68 per disc I was skeptical at best. Using the same drive, hardware, OS, firmware, etc. I am now able to burn discs at 8x with no worries and no errors. These discs also verify faster (in Nero) yielding an overall faster burn. I'm delighted at the price and the quality so far, but since Amazon's prices fluctuate more than the Chinese Commodities Exchange I hope that I can get my next batch at the same or similar value.All-in-all these discs are a great buy.

Surprised by the quality
Used to buy Memorex DVD+R DL, and I have about 20% failure rate, which costs about $0.80 per disc. So I want to try this media to see if it is better than the Memorex. I was a little skeptical about these discs at beginning after reading those "1 star" reviews. However, I decided to try these media because of 2 reasons. 1 If the media works, it only costs $0.56 per disc. 2. If it doesn't work, I can return it at no extra cost. After receive them and used these discs to backup my XBOX 360 games, they burned and playback 100% successfully without any issue. So far, I burned about 30 discs and no coasters. These media are cheap and great quality. Will purchase more in the future.I also tried these media in my 4 years only Pioneer burner, and it doesn't work. I am okay with it because it don't recognize most of other branded DVD+R DL anyway.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality
I've always used Verbatim media, but after seeing the price of Quantum media I just had to try it out. It has not disappointed me and has provided DL media at an extremely affordable price. It is compatible with both PC and Mac software and works well with most DVD burners on the market (keep in mind that this is speculation since there are only a few manufacturers that make media burners these days). I would recommend these to anyone.

Worked as good as the Verbatim DVD+R DL discs
I've always ordered and used the Verbatim 96542 8.5 GB 8x-10x Double Layer Recordable Disc DVD+R DL, 30 Disc Spindle and that has served me well in the past. I thought I would give these Optical Quantum discs a try based on the reviews and significantly lower cost/disc. So far I've used about 10 discs and they have worked flawlessly, just as good as the Verbatim's. My OS is Windows XP and my DVD drive is LG Electronics 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Internal Drive GH24NS50 (Black). Like others have said, when there are problems with using different brands of discs, a lot of the time it's not the discs, but the computer's other components that may be off. These discs have worked great for me, so I will go for them again when it's time to replenish.Update after 5 months of use: I've used 32 of the 50 discs so far and 2 of them would not work -- the discs failed during the writing process. So I'd guess I'll run into another dud before I'm done with the spindle. Still, getting 47 good ones for the price is still cheaper than the Verbatim's that I normally get. I plan to order another spindle of these before the year is out.

Very very bad dvds
When I first purchased these dvds I thought that they were great. Out of the 50, I had used about 40 and they were all fine. The problems then began with the last 10 of the pack. Just to clarify, I have a very reliable burner (LG), it burns dvds even my other ASUS burner can't burn, so if this one can't burn a dvd, then that dvd can't be burnt. I also burn at 2.4x with nothing running in the background, so there are no distractions for the computer. The batch of 10 that gave me problems were experiencing problems with writing the second layer. They just didn't want to and the burn failed. That was annoying, but acceptable for the price I paid. What really bothers me with these dvds is the playback quality. I had some dvds which burned correctly with no errors, and then when I played them back on SEVERAL dvd players they were skipping like crazy and totally unwatchable. That was the frustrating part. I thought that I had a good burn and the damn things wouldn't even play right. So not only did I have a dvd which wouldn't play, but I deleted my burning files because I thought it was successful. And seriously, now I have to go through and check every single one of these dvds thoroughly and when they burn without error, just to make sure they play right, which is something I have never had to do before with any other brand. At least with other brands when they burned successfully they played successfully. Basically I am very disappointed with this brand and will never buy from them again. I am going to stick with the name brands, but the middle of the line brands like kodak or tdk. I know that verbatim is the most reliable, but I really don't feel like forking out almost twice as much when $30 brands do just as good. Just avoid the $20 brands.
