The wrong generation
When I put the refences of my tablet the site show me the replacement that I order and when I took to the technician he told me that it was the wrong replacement! My tablet is 7th generation. Why the site don't show the proper generation when we ask for?

Fits the Gen 9!
I won't lie to you, I hated every second of this repair. The Kindle was handed back to my wonderful mother with much griping. If she were not the amazing lady she is, I would have given up long ago. This thing is tiny. In the picture I've included, taken before it was made pretty, each of those hashes is a millimeter. I had to solder this under two magnifying glasses, and I'm only 33. The only thing I found that would fit between them was an Xacto blade, and it was the sharp side.If you, like me, haven't replaced a USB port in a few years, I'm gonna give you a heads up on things you will likely/definitely need:-Solder paste. Is it absolutely necessary? Maybe not. But how much do you really hate yourself that you'll attempt this without it? If you've got some really small gauge solder, it'll work, too. My supplies are dwindling these days, so I used the paste. I dabbed some on my repair mat and dipped the iron into it. perfect amount on my smallest soldering tip.-A bottle of liquid flux. This one is necessary. Absolutely. This component is so small that solder will not flow properly without it. It really feels like the laws of physics have stopped working just because it's so tiny. Without flux, you'll have bridging between the contacts and it'll give you a water intrusion error. Ask me how I know. I had run out and tried the repair anyway. The depth of man's hubris knows no bounds. That little component component told me to bend the knee, and I dejectedly said, "Yes, sir."All that griping to say, it works! Works beautifully. Saved my mom's several hundred dollar Kindle, and my honor as an EE and child. And I'm saying all of this to show that it can be done, with the right equipment. If you're expecting to open this baby up and have it be like a Mini or Micro USB, it just isn't.So be prepared, and knock this repair out of the park.
