Excellent and easy read
Jeffrey Wilhelm is an awesome education leader. This book was easy to read with excellent information for all grades, especially about 4th up.

Easy to understand
I had to purchase this book for a course I was taking. It was very informative and gave me several ideas to implement in my classroom. It is geared more towards lower grades than high school, though (but most of these types of books are).

an oft-quoted reference for reading strategy instruction
Decided to get this book after reading citations in many research papers and articles on reading comprehension instruction. The approach in this book is based on the gradual release of responsibility principle, and the book explains why think-alouds are a sound strategy for translating this principle into practice. Worth getting if, like me, you're looking for models of instruction that focus on strategic expertise in language use.

Improving Comprehension with Think Aloud Strategies
This is a very good book. I wanted to help my son understand better what he is reading. As a parent and not a teacher, I would use this book by reading it first and then distilling the information to use with my son. Other books may provide ready-to-use texts, however this one requires reading it first.

Good
This purchase was made to supplement my professional library. It was bought as used but it came to me in great condition, however it won't be for long because I use it often.
