Great 8000 BTU AC unit
Excellent window AC unit. Cools VERY well. The unit was a bit heavier than my old AC, so I had to have someone help lift it into the window. Think I'm ready as can be now for the summer heat.

It's really cool.
It was easy to install with a helper to lift it into the window. It is quiet and quickly cools 500 sq ft. I use a standing floor fan that is 3.5 feet above the floor and a ceiling fan to move the cooled air around. This thing is so powerful it would be more than adequate for a one bedroom apartment. The secret is to have another fan in the room to help disperse the cool and dehumidified air this unit puts out. Make sure you install it correctly with the outside portion sloping down as shown in the directions. My 1600 sq ft house has a central system but this helps reduce the load on that system. Of course Amazon had the best price with free delivery.

Easy to install and it really works very well.
Not only is the remote kind of useless, but ours came bent in half. Since we didn't expect much from it, we just tossed it out. I think I can cope with getting up and pushing the buttons on the A/C without a remote. I've never had a remote for an A/C that did more than turn it on and off anyway.Otherwise, this is a GREAT unit. At 75 degrees, low, cool (not economy), it keeps the living room, dining room and kitchen comfortable. Not frigid. I'm sure if I turned the temperature down, it probably would chill down a lot more. It doesn't seem to use much power, either. It installed in a few minutes, no fuss, no issues, no parts left over. And it's small compared to most other machines with that many BTUs.

Great little unit
It only lost a start because it's a little noisier than I would like (I like my quiet). But it's powerful. I usually keep it on low / 4 and my 11x15 room stays cool all day long. Super easy to install and it's small enough I didn't need to put in any additional hardware than what it came with (you can get additional support brackets if you feel the need). The only thing I purchased separately was additional foam strips for insulation. I think the only thing I don't like is that the sliding window panels aren't sealed, allowing hot air and an occasional fly or mosquito to come through. But it was worth the money.

P.O.S. Worked for an hour, puffed out a weird smell and stopped working.
Purchased to supplement air in a guest room for a visitor coming during a heat wave. Package arrived on time, the day before our guest's arrival. The package appeared to have already been opened by someone else and resealed, but we installed the unit anyway in a desperate race against time and heat. The unit worked well for about an hour and began cooling the room. We left the room and returned about an hour later to a strange burning smell and a nonworking unit. We checked the circuits and outlets and discovered no issues. The unit just burned up and stopped. We waited several hours for the unit to cool down and tried again, but it did not even turn on. I checked the square footage of our room, and it was less than 150 square feet, so the unit we purchased/installed was the appropriate size for the room. So disappointed! Had to run to Lowes to pick up a more expensive unit at the last minute to keep our guest comfortable. Very disappointed for the hassle but happy we could return it without issue.

Good AC for my hot work shed
I installed this in a work shed. Installation was easy and this makes it bearable on those 100°+ days. My shed is 100 sf and in full sun. If it’s 100° out the shed can get down to about 80°. I find that to be acceptable and expected. Hopefully this helps others figure out what meets their needs. As for me, I’m happy with this AC.

Works well, but doesn't have the correct panels for my window.
I bought this AC unit last summer, it works great and keeps both my room and the living room cold. However the type of panels it comes with open horizontally and for my window I need panels that open vertically. I had to cut foam to fit and it looks pretty trashy. I have been trying to find the correct panels for my window, but I can't seem to find the style I need.Other than that, everything works great. And mine isn't loud while running. It has a very gentle humming noise similar to a fan, only slightly louder. Though when it first starts up and when it is about to turn off it does make a loud noise.
