Needs to be installed, but very well made
I fitted this well made de-barking tool to me 16 inch chainsaw. I did think about fitting it to my 12 inch saw, but 16 + is recommended.I had to drill a couple of holes into the guide bar … I did not that a friend who has a 20 inch saw, already had holes in his guide bar (Oregon I think)It does add a little weight and obviously changes the pivot point, but it is still OK to use.I have use it to good effect on a range of logs, and the blades seem to be in good conditionHappy to recommend.

Quite good
Now that the summer is over we are reshaping and tidying the garden. We are going to go for a sculptured kind of look, ie, putting a bevel on the decking rail, and bevelling the posts on the garden room. We tried a router but with not much success, so tried this chainsaw attachment and although we had to drill a couple of holes in the blade to fit it worked very well. It does however make the chainsaw a little on the heavy side and does take a lot of practice to use as a shaper although for stripping bark from logs was really effective. At just over £100 it does seem a bit expensive but if your into timber products this maybe what your missing. It came well packaged with spare blades.

Very impressive
This makes pretty light work of stripping bark and shaping logs and posts. The unit seems well made and is supplied with a set of blades. It requires fitting to a chainsaw as it's driving device and a 16" chainsaw is recommended. The text advises that you need to drill your chainsaw bar to attach this device; however, I'm not sure many people would want to do this, some are pre-drilled for attachment mounting though. It does a great job of stripping and smoothing logs and is fairly easy to control though it can occasionally buck if you're trying too hard, best to let it rip and just guide it along.

So far so good
It seemed to work quite well. I probably need to put another washer under the pulley because when I pulled the warm belt tight, it touched the housing.

Sturdy tool works well
This lot wizard debarking tool is not big but quite heavy and solid. There are extra blades included. It need to attach to a chainsaw. My husband used it for trimming and cutting logs. He said it worked well. The price is not cheap but reasonable for the quality.

A good attachment to my chainsaw but on the heavy side
I've recently got into woodwork after a tree was felled close to my house and the council left logs out for collection.I've attached it to my chainsaw to try it out and found it works really well. I managed to debark a log in a matter of minutes and was happy with the result. The attachment itself adds a fair bit of weight to the chainsaw, making it a bit more difficult to control but nothing unbearable. All in all it's a good attachment and should come in useful as I do more woodwork. It literally turns work that would take hours with a manual wood debarking tool into minutes.

A heavy attachment which does the job
This is on the heavy side which unbalanced the chainsaw somewhat. It therefore takes time to get used to holding it with this product attached.Once fitted, it does the job advertised. It worked better on drier logs, I’m avoiding wet bark as it was a little temperamental under those conditions. On dry wood, it stripped the bark which I’m then using to compost.
