Edited 8/26/2017: It's been about 10 months, and still works perfectly. I've since moved the mount to my new vehicle, 2015 Jeep JKU, and mounted it below the steering wheel. I can mount a pistol along the top of the slide, or along the side of the slide and it holds either way, both small pistols (Kel-Tec P3AT) and a semi-compact pistol (Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro).Edited: I've been using this for 3.5 months now and it's worked great. Any pistol I've used had stayed put regardless of pistol weight, terrain, length of drive, etc. The Velcro I added has stayed on nicely and continues to protect my gun's finish. There are many competitors on the market, which I haven't tried, but for the price and quality, this is the best there is.Great solution for carrying in car, especially a small car will very little storage like my Camaro. The magnets are very strong. I added a piece of soft side Velcro onto the mounting surface to protect my gun's finish and so that it doesn't smack hard into the magnets when mounting. I installed it using two screws with a locking washer and a nut on the back side. I haven't driven with a gun mounted yet but I can tell that it'll hold well and the gun won't spin. I installed it at a 45 degree cant so that I can naturally gain a strong grip if I need to grab it quickly. To keep the gun mounted stable, it appears I'll have to attach it to the magnets right in the center of the gun for proper weight distribution.ETA: I've been using this daily for two months now and it's performed perfectly. The gun doesn't move at all once I set it in place. I use it for either my Taurus PT111 or Kel Tec P3AT, and it holds either one of them right where I need without spinning or moving.

Here's the deal, this is a great product. From what I've read of the bad reviews on this product its because it scratches up peoples guns. Well there's a simple answer to that. I used the soft portion of velcro with the adhesive you can get at stores like Staples or OfficeMax. There's no need to complain over something that's so easy to fix, heck duct tape would do the trick. Now there is a drawback of the velcro, I noticed that the gun can slide around, not fall off but there is still movement and I didn't like that so since the purchase came with 2 magnets I just added the second one and problem solved. Its a good product and I plan on buying more.

Was skeptical about this system but after ordering this one and trying it out....I was pleasantly surprised on how well it actually worked. I bought it with the intention of increasing my safes storage capacity for handguns. I've mounted this to the top of my safe and it held my pistol in place so that I still had ample room (height wise) above my pistol rack without interfering with anything in its pathway as I handle pistols in and out.I liked it so much that I ordered 3 more of these so I can create more space for other pistols.

I'm given it a 4 star. Only because it could of came with some padding. The coating that comes on it wears off and would eventually maybe damage your gun. So improvised made my own cushion(padding) for it. I'll post it.

Absolutely a great magnet! I just installed this last night and put it to the rest this morning... Unfortunately I was involved in a head on collision this morning and I felt something drop to my feet. As I reached down to carefully pick up my pistol, I realized it was still firmly in place even through 2 impacts in the 3 car collision!!! My phone was what flew out of my cup holder and landed near my feet! This magnet is perfectly mounted under my steering column with two 3/4 inch screws. At 6'4" this does not get in the way of my knees when driving. I would recommend this to anyone.

I may have already reviewed this little magnet, but I've bought many of these same ones. These little things are amazing! Truly transforms gun (and magazines or anything else steel) storage into simple, fast, effective and sometimes nearly invisible means of preparedness. I use one in our closet mounted on the inside overhead wall to snap my EDC gun when I'm not wearing it. Mounting here lets me have quick access to the weapon while being fully hidden, and far out of the reach of my 3 year old. This magnet is so strong, it's cracking the corner bead and paint from attracting the slide into the wall! So not only do I not care about how this wall looks inside a closet and over your head, I know my evil genius kid can't remove a weapon even if he found it (which is really only stored there during the night or while I'm showering) even though he knows we have many guns in the house and in the safe. For me, the safety of a well placed magnet is 3 fold. I also use one hidden behind a shelf at the front and rear doors of my house, and one under the dash of my car. I'm going to build a false bottom shelf that will accept two magnet mounts to accommodate a hidden shotgun. We had an accidental break in during the day on day 1 at our new house that scared us into being more prepared for unexpected situations. These mounts also make confined safe storage a thing of the past. I truly love these magnets, and I have seen a bunch of different styles, my friends use others. I've never had a mar or scratch on any weapon from the plastic, even cerokoted slides. The only thing I would like to see change is aluminum inserts with countersunk holes for flush wood screws, and a discounted multi pack. I would recommend a six pack in a heartbeat. 1- bedroom, 2- front door, 3- car, 4- kitchen counter under cabinets, 5- office desk, 6- flashlight mounted. It's proven that a good flashlight is a more effective deterrent of home invasion. I really find these things hugely functional and utilitarian. As always, remember to practice safe handling, and be smart about your weapons. There is enough bad guys out there, we don't need any accidents in the law abiding and responsible gun owners community. Also, the use of a safety is encouraged as this magnet is strong enough that you have to tug it pretty hard to release. Like as in about 5 - 9 lbs of pull. Think about it. Be smart, be safe.
