Importer520 Brand cable connects computers to network components in a wired Local Area Network (LAN). Intended for use in the home or office, this cable meets more stringent standards than conventional Category 5 cables and is capable of transmitting data at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps (or to 1 Gigabit per second). Intended for Wired Home and Office Networks: The speed and quality of a wired LAN is largely determined by how fast data is transmitted between computers and network components. The cable's RJ45 connectors offer universal connectivity to computers and network components, such as routers, switch boxes, network printers, and network attached storage devices. Built For Superior Network Speed and Reliable Connectivity: The Cat5e Ethernet Patch Cable features RJ45 connectors with gold plating for accurate data transfer and reliability. This cable is capable of transmitting data at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps (or 1 Gigabit per second). The faster the speed of your connections, the greater your network's ability to stream video, music, and other data that require high bandwidth. (Please note that your network's speed is determined by many factors in addition to the cables, including your router, switch boxes, and components.)

Stay Away - Not Cat5e, not copper wiring!
Not cat5e, not 350 Mhz, not even copper!!! This product should be pulled from Amazon as it is aluminum wire, non-twisted pairs and will not achieve anywhere near the required specs of cat5e. Cable iteself very flimsy and able to pull apart with hands. Received refund right away. Please see pictures and stay aware from this product!

DO NOT BUY!
Originally purchased a little over a year ago (Feb, 16') to connect an old router as a range extender. The router crapped out so I purchased a high quality (fast) new router to resume the range extending ability. I went through a lot of troubleshooting to figure out why I was not getting the appropriate speeds through the router as I figured I had incorrect settings. I was getting a max speed through the router of about 70 Mbps even while hardwired!I connected the router through a different cable and was immediately able to get 300 Mbps over Wi-Fi. This cable is definitely NOT CAT5e, which I should have known from the cheap insulation, and it should be pulled from the market as it is fraud. Do not but this cable!

Don't buy this - does not meet CAT5 or CAT5e standards. Not twisted pair, no return policy.
Wish I would have read these reviews and not gone solely on the product rating. Network cable is network cable, right? Wrong. Bought this product to run cable from DSL box mounted on the side of our house to our mini data center in the basement. Wire is super flimsy, stranded instead of solid copper. Our CenturyLink tech saw this cable, went to his truck, and came back with about 100' of much nicer cable and said "Here, use this. This other cable is crap." Ended up pulling this blue cable out and replacing it with what the tech gave me. Blue cable is now in the trash. Save your money and time, buy something else.

This will only run at 100BASE-T, not higher...
I realize it's been a couple years, but I recently noticed the machine I hooked this cable up to was only running at 100 Mbit/sec (100BASE-T), as opposed to the 1,000 Mbit/sec (1000BASE-T) that it should have been with the router it was connected to. So I swapped it out with a different brand and the machine jumped to 1000 Mbit/sec.Part of the reason that higher quality ethernet cables are rated higher (cat 5e, cat 6, etc.) is that the wire pairs are twisted more tightly within the cable sheath. This reduces cross-talk and interference and allows for longer runs of cable. Well when I replaced this cable with another one, that immediately jumped my machine up to the 1,000 Mbit/sec that it should be running at on my router.Out of curiosity, I cut open the old cable and found that the twist was almost non-existent, and indeed for 2 pairs of conductors, it WAS non-existent. I don't know for sure this is the reason this cable wouldn't run at 1000 Mbit/sec, but I suspect. See the attached pic showing the difference between this cable (the blue one at top), and an older cat 5 cable I had lying around, I believe made by Belkin. The Belkin twist is dramatic, and the twist in this cable is...not.

FALSE ADVERTISING
DO NOT BUY this cable!! It is advertised as Cat5e, even "exceeding the performance requirement of Category 5e." This couldn't be further from the truth. I got this cable intending to splice it up into shorter sections for use on a Cisco lab kit - as soon as I stripped the covering I found it is NOT twisted-pair, it is straight wires. If you know cabling you know what this means - if you don't know cabling this means it is NOT Cat5e, ethernet cables have used twisted-pairs for decades, you can't get any usable network data across the wire without it. Spend a few dollars more and get some actual Cat5e cable from a reputable source, if this cable works at all it will be nothing but a headache causing constant problems. It wasn't even worth returning, Amazon needs to remove this listing.

Completely unusable. Not twisted pair.
No connection. Simple replacement of a 10 meter (33 ft) cable that worked but had no slack with a longer one to allow following wall rather than cutting corners. Everything works with the shorter cable. This cable could not make any connection to network. Tried different port and same outcome. Felt like there were only 2 twisted pairs inside the sheath and very small gauge wire. Too cheap to return so I sliced open the sheath - 8 VERY thin wires (definitely thinner than 24 gauge) that are NOT twisted pairs. 3 of 8 wires were broken where the plastic sheath showed signs of having been crimped.Don't buy cheap - get your cabling from a reputable supplier.BTW - description states "Perfect in conjunction with 10 and 100 Base-T, and even 1000 Base-T networks" but CAT 5E is NOT recommended for gigabit speeds for long connections. While 24 gauge twisted pair cables may be used for gigabit speeds over short runs, this cable - even if wires were not broken - probably would not.

No returns // Buyer Beware
1. Cable jacket unmarked -- very surprising. I've ordered other cables online, but this is my first with a "vanilla jacket". Expected the standard or type marked on jacket and UL recognition. Important for my POE application.2. Packaging marked as 50 ft, but almost 2 feet short when measured. Length was critical in my application.3. The Cat 5e standard for speed requires a specific twisting per meter (each of 4 pairs different twist rate per standard to minimize cross coupling in full duplex mode. A performance test appears to support close to 100 MHz rates (half duplex). The time-domain measurement will be made in the lab later.4. I found a local seller (wholesale to the public) with better pricing and their cables are guaranteed to conform to all applicable standards, marked as such, cable jackets marked, and they do sell online AND THE ALTERNATE VENDOR ACCEPT RETURNS with a satisfaction guarantee. You're not rolling the dice.
