Great value and works perfectly every time
I had read that some people had problems with poorly soldered joints and intermittent failures. Mine worked perfectly out of the box and have never had one failure or mis-tune.

best of breed available here
the atu arrived in a small box with decent packaging... i have no idea of what the included USB barrel cable is for, as there is no documentation - there is no manual, no errata sheet, but you will get a power cablethe good:solid constructionno internal battery (i consider this a plus)no rattlesunit powered upunit functions properlyfirmware provides SWR, impedance info, and FWD powerbuttons respond to pressesmost important: firmware is the latest 3.2 versioneven more important for QRP ops: the PIC firmware has been modified to initiate tuning at 1W power levelsthe bad:due to poor documentation, you may find operation erratic/confusing (i was able to figure it out)due to poor ducumentation, you may not understand displayed information (bypass, autotune mode on/off)no weather-proofing using a lexan cover over the OLED - be careful of rain dropsno rubber feet or flip-up front feetuse of UHF connectors (most ops nowadays prefer BNC) as this is touted as a compact unit for /P operationinteresting note: i did find the unit to work with a single fresh 9V alkaline batterythis product is recommended from this seller (Malahit)... but *beware* of other sellers here on the wild marketplace - you could get burned with a defective unit with older firmware and 10W tuning requirementsi tested this tuner this morning using a 20-yr-old vintage W6MMA manual screwdriver... contacts in MA, TX, and WI using 9W on a new 705 QRP rig...i will do further testing with longwires and portable dipolesi like this tuner - it is smaller than my previously favorite QRP tuner, the legendary LDG Z11

Non-functional
The display lights up, goes through the motions, but no tuning occurs. I have exhausted all the troubleshooting steps I can find online. There seems to be a significant number of people having the same problem as I am having with this unit. It seems that when it works, it'll tune a bathtub, but getting one that works can be a crapshoot. I didn't get around to testing it fast enough and the return window has closed. I guess I am out $88. Can someone post a clear image of the inside of the front panel? I believe mine is missing a wire and two capacitors.

Works well, small, tunes mismatches well.
I bought this to use with my IC-706 series radios. It works well. I also used it with my FT-897 Yaesu recently to tune a stubborn trap multi band dipole. I have the FC-30 that is a match to the Yaesu, but it doesn't like severe mismatches (others have noted this also). This tuner worked well in its place and tuned well beyond the limitations of the FC-30.I was able to make some contacts with it in the portable environment I was using. I had no RF problems, and it tunes fairly quickly. With the Yaesu, I powered the output down and changed the mode to safely engage the tuner. With the IC-706 series, I have the tuner plug in adapter installed and it works by just pressing the tune button. I have included a photo with it setup beside one of my older IC-706 radios in the radio room.i am pleased with the product and will probably purchase another one.

Nice surprise
After watching reputable YouTuber's like smokin ape, etc. I was hesitant to buy this. But given there are several sources and most reviews are a year plus old I thought if there were faulty solder connections and shoddy build quality, I'd try to go over them rather than assemble a kit. I was very surprised this unit was excellent build quality and works perfectly. I may still swap the 2 SM diodes with 1N5711's if I note any future issues, but for now this vendors product works fine.

Afordable ATU that checks all the boxes and works great!
I have been waiting for an affordable small ATU that I can use portable and in the shack, and this one fits the bill. I was very pleased with how well this tuner worked with my 84' random wire (w/9:1 UNUN). It is fast and I can change bands and it locks in pretty close to 1:1 (less than1.5) every time. On occasion it may land on 1.8:1 and I will press the tune button to fish for a lower SWR, no prob. I run about 15-35w. It does it's thing, you rarely will have to press any buttons. The display is great, it shows you just you want to know. The only issue I had was, I had to order new PL-259 to BNC adapters because the ones I had would not seat the center lead (it could rotate in sleeve). I then ordered (Amazon B07QVY5TSL) and perfect fit. I have been using practically every day for about a month waiting for malfunction, -none- it has been solid. (I would recommend.)Here are my boxes:1. Covers 1.8 to 55MHZ2. Needs only ~1w to initiate tune up. (Tune progressively in watts as you increase).3. Works also at 100w4. Low current draw5. Tunes quickly6. Not wait a month to ship from China (this guy was there in no time).Update:FYI, I have been using this little ATU almost everyday for about 3 months with no problems. Once it got confused (caused by me), and a power-cycle cleared. Never messed with the "testing" features (but nice to have). For years I used an MFJ-949 and wasted time with knobs peaking, this is a breeze. I have found that this ATU-100 EXT with AUTO and BYP is useful. For CW, tune up and tap AUTO to lock in on match, vs. accidental re-tuning in QSO. Also BYP bypass in nice to check other bands or no tuner using straight antenna. For $100, I recommend.
