Very compact
I like that it’s very compact and pretty easy to set up. Does a great job keeping the mosquitos away and giving you nice shade. Makes great for days at the range.

Easy set up, nice shade, avoid the wind
Easy set up, makes car camping a lot better by making “your” space bigger. You can get an entire picnic bench with room to spare. Keeps the bugs out but won’t stand up to any wind.

Great value in the right use cases
I've always been a tent camper, but I needed something for a long roadtrip that would be easier and faster to setup/tear down. This car awning did the trick. I drove from Oregon to Michigan and back, camping almost every night, sleeping in my van with an open view out the back, and protection from bugs. Yes, it's a bit flimsy and won't work well in high winds, but it fits the bill if you need a big, bug-free room off the back of your van. As with most tents, it ships with somewhat weak stakes, but I carry back-up stakes as a matter of practicality as some ground environments are pretty packed down. Still, this is well worth the price I paid, and when used correctly should last a long time.

Did not fit my Toyota 2006 matrix however it might fit a teardrop trailer much better
It could’ve used much better directions on how to attach to the hatchback. There were not enough attachment places on my Toyota hatchback to firmly anchor the roof of the Vail. Also there were so many gaps keep out any bugs. I found myself needing to go in and out so many times that I was constantly swatting bugs anyway. Would’ve been nice also to have a floor to keep out any creepy crawlies and keep the cats indoors. The shade was nice when the sun was in the right place but it complicated my choice of how to park the vehicle. Most of the spaces weren’t long enough to accommodate the extra length this added to my car. Not to mention there was no way on the rocky campsites that I could pound steaks into to support the polls or secure the netting. When I first put it up it looked awesome. But then the wind picked up and the stretchy ropes stretched it away from the car and I couldn’t get it back into place without tearing the whole thing down and redoing it. Which made me think of having to do that anytime I need to takeoff in my car. Great idea and looks impressive but not worth the effort for my car. I originally bought it to attach to a teardrop trailer and that would’ve worked Better when I took off in my car. Assuming all other things were equal. Not sure I would recommend it to anyone. Just too many variables to say it’s going to work on any small vehicle hatchback. But if you do want to chance it we sure you have plenty of heavy duty magnets around they will help keep it in place while you’re trying to put it up especially in any kind of wind.

Very Flimsy
Used it 2x and on the second time, the garters already broke. Not as strong as it was advertised.

Wonderful add on to Solo Camping
It was light weight, durable folds up nice in handy bag. My dog liked his freedom not having to be chained. Easy to put it up all by myself. Love it !!

Mosquito net very fragile - one fall and lots of holes
I was excited about using this tent on the back of my Dodge Caravan to give my dog and cat some boundaries and access to the van, but keep out the mosquitos. It went up easy and the test set up in the yard was perfect. I was happy to find a unit without a floor and access from both sides. I really liked how it went over the hatch and under the bumper to the tires to block that off. Just seemed perfect.First night out camping, the tent fell. No big deal, but the net acquired too many holes to even consider repairing. Not sure what use it is now, except for shade and perhaps limited rain shelter. I absolutely do not recommend. The last net I had on my patio table umbrella was up for two years and through at least one hurricane and lots of storms and the holes that killed it were from fire hot fire ash that melted it. My dogs and cat were in and out all the time and it held up. Now I'm using sections of it to cover a side door of the van. I expect at least that kind of durability in a tent!

Very useful accessory for camping
The media could not be loaded. We spent this summer camping and used it first as a “screened porch” to attach to our tent. Took some finagling and binder clips to attach to the tent poles and awning where we could, but it worked out well. Next trip, I tried it out for what it’s supposed to do, on the back of the suv. Worked out great to keep the kids out of the main tent. Some reviews are saying it’s hard to attach properly to the car… get some elastic tarp bungees and it works great. I can see how it would be a problem if you can’t stake down the poles, I will have to try with pavers or those canopy weights they sell. Makes a fun movie night idea too if you looking to keep most of the buggies at bay. Definitely not rain proof by any means so don’t buy for that kind if protection

Fantastic against flies
Great product, travelling through Simpson Desert was a life saver against flies. It was ideal for us as weight and space was our biggest challenge on this trip. This was compact and light and very easy to set up. Took us 10 min. We read reviews how people set up before hand, we didn’t even do that first time was set up what you see in the picture. The only issue with it was the guy rope colour that needs to be fluorescent . Take fluro rope with you and change it. It was not an issue for us on this trip as we only used it while the sun was up once sun was down so were the flies and we were packing it away but tripping hazard in the dark
