They don't make 'em anymore. Find a used one for cheap.
It plays DVDs and Blu-Rays. Best of all, it supports HDMI CEC, which means chances are it will turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input, especially if your TV is a Samsung. If you're really lucky (like if your TV and BD Player are both newer Samsung), you can use your TVs remote to control the player! My old Blu-Ray player was still working fine for playing discs. I just wanted something that would automatically switch my Samsung TV over when I wanted to use it so I don't have to have several remotes. I don't care about the Netflix and all that, because those can go away at any time.I got mine at a very good, reasonable price. If you see this for over $100, (lately SEVERAL Hundred dollars!) I'd say keep looking. I don't know what's so special that demands those prices. It does have "Smart TV" features (like Netflix, etc.), but I'd recommend getting a purpose built device for that, such as Roku, because you never know when the next software upgrade takes away features you were using from your BR player or TV. I think you can only count on these players to play discs, and hopefully never "upgrade" themselves into being complete bricks.Oh: As for the network functions. I always recommend using a wired Ethernet port so you're not fighting with your neighbors WiFi. Wired always works better and faster than WiFi. This has a wired Ethernet port.Physical media is good! You don't have to depend on some outside service continuing to allow you to get what you want!

Good value, features, but no idea when it's powered on or off.
This was a gift for someone who still has a lot of DVD's and is slowly migrating to Blue Ray. The picture quality on DVD's with a 1080p or higher TV is superb, much better scaling then I've seen with others. Blue Rays of course are even more crisp, and perform well. They've yet to explore the WiFi aspect of it, but it appears functional at least. Included HDMI cable was 4-5 feet and nice to not have to buy one.Two real complaints: This was purchased "New" yet the remote had the batteries already in it, and the batteries were dead (?) This caused about 5 minutes of headache when setting up. Secondly, the device has no display or even a power indicator that visually confirms that it is powered on or off. You have to switch to it on your TV's input, or stand at it and press the "Eject" button to tell. My advice was to just leave it always on.Delivery was prompt, packaging was secure.

DVD Player
It was packed very very well. It was taken care of also. Easy to install and easy to use. It’s the same name as my TV and connected with ease. Glad I purchased it. Thank you.

POOR QUALITY PLAYER
Blueray player looks very cheap and video quality is extremely poor with high red color saturation. I returned player 2 days after getting it in the mail in the same condition I had received it. I was refunded half of the money I paid for the blue ray player. This is like a scam. DO NOT BUY. I dont know if this company is connected to Samsung company, but THIS IS ROBBERY of people who love the original Samsung Blue Ray player

A very workable player
The Samsung blu-ray player works very well. It does not have some of the weaknesses of previous players such as audio gapping and intermittent disk holder operation. It would be nice if it had more manual operation capabilities though. There are only buttons for power and disk drawer open/close. This design makes it vulnerable to remote problems.

No Opting Out for Tracking
I bought this Blu-ray unit to replace another make, that quit working. Finally hooked it up two days ago and watched a DVD. Quality excellent. Liked how it worked. But, last night I tried to access my Netflix streaming app through the new unit and it required that I agree to Samsung tracking me in what I watched, when I watched it, etc. When I pressed Disagree, I was left without being able to access a streaming program I pay for independently from the Samsung Blu-ray. I was also unable to use You Tube and Amazon Prime...really everything until I agreed to be tracked. A chat with Samsung AI was fruitless. Luckily I was on the 30th day of my purchase and am returning this unit today. Will not purchase another Samsung unit. I rated 3 stars and was thinking of giving 1 star because of this tracking issue. The quality of the product looked to be excellent.
