The previous operator of my driveway gate was the victim of a tropical storm a few years back and I just got around to replacing it late last year. The cost of the TOPENS opener was about 80% less than my previous operator, which was a major factor in choosing the A5131 opener. I ran into a few issues along the way getting it installed; however, they were all of my own making and none due to the new gate opener. Chelsey at TOPENS emailed me back after my first question/issue came up. She stayed in touch with me, offering suggestions and recommendations that made the process painless and her knowledge of the product and installation were amazing. Yes, there is a time delay between when I email and usually getting a response the next day or late at night, but every question I had was answered fully and the help received was actually better and more thorough than most I've gotten calling and talking to someone directly. The unit itself works like a charm. It is quiet, small and precise. I purchased extra remotes which all programed perfectly the first try. I definitely recommend this opener to anyone looking for a quality product for a great price! And, just email them if you hit a snag! The review on gate opener is great, only 3 stars because it took me 2 days to fix wiring issue to make it work. Be aware, check the wires to make sure they are attached correctly. The wires that supply power to control box were backwards and had to swap them. Neg wire was in positive slot and Pos wire was in neg slot, it was an easy fix.

Very easy to install and program remotes. Not sure on other brands but if you're looking for a gate opener this one is very good for the price.

Compared to the competition (mule and ghost), TOPENS offers a mid ranged gate opener at an affordable price point. Great range of add ons, except for a cattle gate bracket. I’ll get to that later. I picked up the TOPENS to replace an actuator that was damaged (different brand). Which just happen to workout (with modifications). Out of the box, the setup is for a gate that has a direct source of power (an outlet, not solar). I’ve only tested the actuator (the arm) and it works well. However, for everyone else, let it be known that the included brackets are for wood post and gate only. Unless you intend to drill holes in a metal post. This also goes for the gate. If the gate is metal (standard cattle gate), you can either drill through the metal , as per the instructions, or look for a pole/gate bracket. Which unfortunately, is not offered. I was just lucky my old setup had come with the gate brackets. So, they’re out there, hint, hint. Overall: I love my gate openers. If you live on a farm and your gate is a few acres away. The opener is worth it’s weight in gold on cold rainy days. Would suggest also purchasing a solar panel and gate lock. TOPENS offers a fantastic variety of extras (except a gate bracket :). Note: there’s several installation videos if one gets stuck. Wiring can become complicated with add ons.

Let me start by saying for the price and what all is included this is a great deal. I am replacing a GTOP gate opener that cost twice as much as this TOPENS unit.Installation was not difficult but this is not my first gate opener install. My advice is to read the directions twice then read them as you go. I have no issues with this opener, it has plenty of torque to get the gate moving and moves smoothly. I did have to add a second battery to my set up since this is 24v but that was my issue not the gate openers. This is a medium duty opener I have also installed there heavy duty model and they both are a great value. 5 STARS
