Defective GPS phone
If it weren't for the defective GPS in the phone, I'd give this phone 4.5 stars, but instead it gets 2 stars. I loved the price, 256 gb of storage, 6 g of ram so it ran fast, long battery life with a quick charge, and it took nice pictures. The phone was slim with a large screen and narrow enough I could hold it in my small hands. However, the GPS in the phone was defective and useless and I use the maps feature ALL the time. The phone could never locate my location and constantly jumped around even when the phone was stationary. Sometimes it was 500 ft off, other times, more than a mile off, but it was never where I actually was and it constantly bounced to random locations. No amount of calibrating the compass, running updates, deleting google maps, restarting the phone, making sure location accuracy was on, etc would work. When running google maps or Waze, it would constantly reroute and tell you to turn around, or turn left, turn right, etc because it couldn't figure out where the phone was. Even driving directly down major interstates it'd think we were cruising through a nearby river or off on some mountain. Don't even get me started on city driving. I called amazon and they sent me a replacement so I could return the first one. I set up the new one hoping that the first one was just a lemon, but the second TCL 10L was exactly the same. Everything else worked great, but again, the GPS would not work. My friend who also bought the same phone around Christmas time has the same problem so she also got a replacement sent to her by Amazon. Same thing. Her second phone also had a defective GPS, so between the 2 of us, we are 0 for 4. I finally gave up and returned the phone and had to buy at different phone altogether. Grrr. Not sure if all these phones came from the same defective batch or what, but I am very disappointed because I really liked the phone and its specs, which were higher than the new phone I have now that cost me more. Just to note, I don't think all TCL phones are bad. I bought 2 of my kids the lower TCL 10SE version for Christmas and theirs work perfectly fine and the GPS has no problems.

Inaccurate GPS Location
It is sad to say that as much as I liked this phone and as much as it was hyped online, the GPS location does not work properly and renders it completely useless. This problem affects any app that uses your location. And I know it's not just my phone because my family all have the same model and they all have the same problems. Customer service is not helpful and there doesn't seem to be a solution to this problem.

Beautiful device, poor performance, shoddy tech support
I spent a lot of time watching unboxing reviews of this phone some with pros and cons. After careful review I decided for the first time to go with a low end but what seemed to be well respected phone by T C l. Got the phone home at first the user interface seems great, everything seemed to work fine getting it all set up however when it comes to streaming via Showtime Anytime, Hulu and others it's very choppy and sporadic. I also had counts of random power cycling for no reason. I decided to call T C L tech support they were not real supportive other than shipping me back to Amazon to reset the phone and or replace it. I will try to reset the phone if this continues it is going back and I will not consider another TCL product.

Great phone at a great price
I got this phone for my daughter to replace another aging device on Verizon prepaid. She always seems to run out of space so we got the 256G internal storage model. I have nothing but praise for the device so far. It seems very responsive, the screen size is nice (thankfully not huge like so many now). The battery seems to last a pretty long time. Getting a fingerprint reader at this price is a very nice addition. A few bloat apps but nowhere near as many as some of the other vendors and they let you remove some of them. If I had to replace my higher end Galaxy I might even consider this as an option for myself and save some money.

I'd still buy their TVs. But this needs work!
Screen size lovely, battery life on standby etc lovely. Ear jack port? Located at the top of the phone so if you're charging while trying to use the music features? Fuggetaboudit. Volume maximum? Meh. 4 cameras and still fuzzy? Boo-ty.The sounds it makes? Awful.Swipe feature is delayed and nothing remains as you put it in the menu tray. NO I DON'T WANT WIFI CALLING AS MY FIRST OPTION! Keyboard is weird and reacts with a delay. Phone turns itself off at times. It's a lot of nothing. Also, the Whatsapp ring does an eeeeeeeee for like a solid 4 seconds AFTER the message chime. Sending and receiving more than one message or convo? IT'S TORMENT.Finger scanner doesn't work with 2nd registered finger.I know it's a cheap phone, but even among other cheap phones, this one isn't very good.Great TVs though.Great starter for a 7 or 8 year old. Who isn't tech savvy. Or likes nice things.
