A Must Have For Applying Decals
This product is a 'must have' for applying decals to a scale model. It makes getting your decals down easy. Pair it with Micro Sol for conforming to panel lines and uneven features on your model and you have a winning combination.

My decals were inkjet printed
I've never bought this product before, and I used in for only one purpose, putting inkjet printed decals on a hard hat. I can't say that it helped much, but I don't know. I used this followed by Micro Sol setting solution, which again may have helped, but I don't know. I think the issue here is that the inkjet decals require a coating or two of acrylic. This protects the decal from smearing, but it may also adds a certain amount of rigidity which may not be conducive to the applications of Micro Set and Micro Sol solutions. In any case, the sellers of the inkjet decal paper never endorsed these products. I do have a feeling the Micro Set may have helped seat the decals and the Micro Sol may have helped the decal conform to the rounded surface. This may be a 5 star product with the commercial or laser printed decals, but I don't know. This is an update:After using this product to place decals on a hard hat, everything seemed to work fine. However, over a period of weeks, there were spots in the decal where the ink had faded or disappeared. Since the hard hat was never exposed to any wetness, I can conclude the acidic (very week)solution caused the ink to disappear. It did seat the decal nicely however. If you are using ink jet printed decals, I would not recommend using these solutions.

Don't build models without it
If you enjoy working on scale models, sooner or later you will want to affix decals to one of them. If the surface is flat and smooth, it's generally no problem. But if the surface is curved -- like fenders on an old car -- putting a flat decal on a curved surface can be a challenge. Microset softens the decal so that it can adhere to the curves better and has an agent in it that helps the decal stick better. Talk about "win - win." Anymore I don't build a model without it.
