Easy to trim & install, w/real benfits as soon as you turn the key + USA-made! What's not to love?
Instant relief from engine noise and a major reduction in the amount of heat felt thru the hood. Application couldn't have been any easier. I held up the 1-piece sheet to check measurements for the hood of my '85 Jeep CJ-7 and luckily for me it was an almost perfect fit; no trimming was required. I tore off about a 1/3 of the waxy paper backing and fit it tight against the leading edge of the underside of the hood - about an inch back - pushing lightly until it stuck. Then I pulled off the remaining backing and pressed the rest of the liner into place, pushing firmly, inching along until the whole sheet was tacked in. That's it! It looks good and the best thing is that you start getting benefits the second you drop the hood and fire your engine up.I also used this same product on the underside of my ZTR lawn mower deck shields to quiet down pulley & blade whir noise, as well as under the engine hood. Again, a quick easy install with zero issues. That project was done back in 2013 and it's still holding up remarkably well. Dynamat is the real deal and their 1-piece hoodliner is an excellent product. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for simple, efficient reduction of both engine heat & noise. It's also nice to purchase a product that's still made in the USA and actually works as advertised. 5 STARS!
J**!
That it works well in both sound dampening and keeping the hood cool.
Thick, strong adhesive, to install and covers all of your underside of the hood. Over all great product. I do notice a difference in sound as well. I would recommend.

Good Product
I modified my 2001 Frontier with intake, header, and exhaust and was able to reduce the noise from the rear by installing FatMat (also a great product for the price) in the rear of the vehicle which worked beautifully, but the noise coming from the engine compartment was another issue. It was starting to become unbearable for short highway drives at 70MPH. In comes this hoodliner. The price was right on Amazon ($58 vs $80+ everywhere else), installation was a breeze (ensure the surface is clean prior to application), and the difference was amazing!!!!. I'd recommend this product to anyone that has modded their vehicle's intake system and those whose vehicles did not come or do not have a hoodliner. The only thing negative is that the white lettering flaked off as I was using my hand to apply the liner to the hood. I also need time to assess if the adhesive material maintains its bond to the hood. Only time came tell so expect a followup to this review.Onto the Fatmat: I purchased a roll from them 3 years ago for appox $80 and have covered all 4 doors on my 04 crv's w/ 2 layers, covered my crew cab frontier's: headliner, floor pan, 4 doors w/ 1 layer (I had already lined them with Dynamat which cost me about $100 for one layerof sound deading per two doors, you see the cost difference). behind and under the rear seat w/ 2 layers, and I still have enough material for the doors on my 300 ZX. I do not want to know how much that would have cost me if I would have used Dynamat throughout my vehicles. Dynamat brags that it is thicker than Fatmat and that maybe true, but their door kit goes for $80 and only covers 2 doors ( and that is a front door and the smaller back door and you have to be creative in reusing the leftover material from the front door). For $80 I was able to do the above, allping 2 layers where needed and I still have material left over. Just food for thought!

This is a MUST for RV owners with doghouse heat issues!!
This is PERFECT for an RV doghouse/engine cover! I saw this mentioned in an RV forum and was about to buy a similar product that was thinner/cheaper but I decided to go with this since the price wasn’t that much difference but the thickness was much better with this product. We have a motor home and the engine cover is between the front seats. It gets VERY warm, especially during the summer months of travel and it’s always noisy, but we mainly really wanted the heart reduction properties. This came in the day of our trip and I decided to try to install it, it was really simple, cutting a piece and sticking it on, then trimming the edges. Our engine cover is an odd custom fiberglass shape, almost like a huge ice scoop. This still confirmed to the curves and edges really easily. It even stuck really well to the existing thin reflective material that was already in place with industrial glue. So the sticky backing is really strong! But most importantly, there is NO HEAT coming from the engine anymore! It’s amazing! I can feel the transition from the base of the engine cover where there is no dynamat, to the engine cover where I installed the dynamat and WOW! I would say there is easily 40° of heat difference at least. There is just zero heat coming from the engine into the cab now. This product is WAY better than I even hoped! I really feel like the engine noise is much better than before too, so that’s an added bonus for us as well! Highly highly recommend this especially for RV owners!

Better over time
I always take time to thoroughly test and use the item before an honest review. I used this product on our class A motorhome "dog house" to deaden noise and reduce heat. I installed it during the off season so it took a few weeks before using it. Our last use of the motorhome was last fall so it had been 6 months between uses. Not having keen memory of the noise the motorhome produced before installation my immediate response was it sounded better. It became very clear on our first trip when we realized how much easier my wife and I could talk when we were driving down the road. It was very significantly better! It also greatly reduced driving fatigue and tension that builds from engine noise during interstate and hill climb driving. At the end of the day I was very appreciative of the sound deadening this product provided. I could not fully verify reduced heat yet as our northeast temperatures are not yet hot but we did have an 80+ degree day driving with no heat from the engince compartment. This stuff really works!
