This tool is a must-have
I bought this tool to replace the bearings on the exhaust blower for my pellet stove and I had no idea how I was going to get those bearings off and then I stumbled across this bearing removal tool so I thought I would give it a whirl, this tool is insanely awesome, I had those bearings off in 5 minutes and with very little effort, five stars is not enough, I highly recommend this tool especially if you're into replacing the bearings on your pellet stove motors, it will save you a bundle.

just the right size for small bearings.
it's exactly what I needed for removing small bearings.

Didn't work on what I had ordered it for.
Looking at it online, I thought I could add the extensions to the jaws to extend the reach. I needed four-inch reach, and the small jaws to pull a bearing. The other pullers with the long reach were too wide to fit in the space around the bearing. It didn't work, but I could see a usefulness in having a puller this small, so I'll keep it.

Functional claw and separator for small bearings on small motors
Successfully pulled 608 bearings with 22mm outter diameter off a 8mm shaft. I flipped the separator around to get support/force on the inner race so it doesn’t wreck the bearing. The tool itself feels like it’s well made enough for normal use and can take the forces applied. It’s flexible enough with the extra arms to get at many bearings. My only problem is the blow molded case is visiably thin in spots to the point of being semitransparent instead of solid red. The clasp and hinge are going to break from fatigue after very few open and closes. Could have been a nicer more ‘rugged’ case even at the low price. Pinned hinges would have made me very happy but even still these hinges are razor thin plastic.Very close to fantastic.

it worked perfectly for my purposes
as a woodturner I use right angle electric drills to sand my work; however, the sanding dust eats up the rear bearings so I usually only get 6-9 months out of a drill. I've gone through probably 8-10 of them in 10 years. Then I realized if I could get the rear bearing off, which is only about 1/2" diameter, I could replace it and get another 6-9 months. This little bearing puller was purchased with that in mind. I just got it delivered and immediately pulled the rear (bad) bearing off one of the drills that was making horrible noises and replaced it with a new bearing. Voila' it works perfectly and sounds new. Since it's the first and only time I've used this puller, I hesitated to give it 5 stars without more experience with it, but it worked perfectly and was easy to use, so how could I give it anything less. The drills cost between $35-$45 depending on how many I buy and where I can get them on sale. This bearing puller was about $23 including tax, so money well spent.

Pleasantly Surprised!
I was skeptical, but this thing worked like a champ pulling the belt pulley and bearing from the armature of my dewalt miter saw! I couldnt have fixed it without this! The only issue I had, the point on the screw to tighten and pull the bearing, needs to have a flat surface.. I used a nut to prevent the point from marring up the threads in the end of the armature. Not a big deal really tho. It worked great. The extension pieces took a minute to figure out, and since it doesnt come with any pictures, diagrams or paperwork.. well. I got it figured out 4 stars out of 5 since it didnt come with any paperwork at all. But its pretty easy to figure out.

Great little tool
I've been struggling for a couple of weeks to get a bearing race off my mower's axle and put a new bearing on. Tried a number of suggestions and had neighbors even give it a try. I watched a video someone posted on pulling a small bearing on a trailer and noticed they use a Shankly Bearing Separator (I recognized it from looking on Amazon). I went a ahead and ordered one knowing that if it didn't work I'd be taking the mower to a repair shop and getting a big bill. When my tool arrived, I put a little heat from my propane torch on the race, let it cool and put the puller tool to work and to my surprised it came off with ease. Thank You Shankly for a great little tool for future projects. Showed to it a number of neighbors that asked how it finally got it off!
