20 Watt 12V Solar Panel Kit with Adjustable Solar Panels Tilt Mount Brackets and 5A 12V/24V PWM Solar Charge Controller for 12V Battery RV Boat Homes and Any Off-Grid Applications

I am using this solar panel with 12v controller to keep my standby generators battery fully charged. I do not have to wire utility to the cord connected manual generator when using this solar panel. The mount is really solid and it could not be easier to assemble. The connections are all weatherproof so everything can stay outside. The controller regulates the output current based on the batteries state of charge. It works great and would recommend.

I bought one of these and put it on the roof of my horse trailer charging 2 marine batteries, I run a lot of interior lights and fans and the batteries are always charged

So I work in the construction business and we constantly have batteries that go dead all the time on our equipment dump trucks excavators so on so forth by mounting the solar panels on top of the roof of our equipment we no longer have dead batteries . But leave it to Mother Nature to prove me wrong one day

The solar charger looks great and has a lot of wiring applications, mostly useless. How to precisely wire the charger up isn't clear. 2 alligator clips to the battery and another wire with other connectors to screw onto a bolt but where and how is the question. The designer over-thought this product. Just need a wire directly from the charger to the battery.

Charge controller instructions are very confusing and it does not work like the instructions say. Not even sure it is charging my battery. Guess I will see when I come back to deer camp next week. SMHUpdate—- controller doesn’t work. Battery was dead when I arrived at camp. Charger has been connected for 5 days in great sunlight. The only thing on in my travel trailer was the CO detector. Do Not Buy this charger!

Good solar panel I recommend

The solar panel, mounting bracket and wiring that were included are all great. The charge controller is another story though. The first panel arrived shattered. I returned it and without hassle, the vendor sent a new one right away. Better packaging is needed for sure.Back to the charge controller. One problem is the connection points for landing the wires. A No. 2 Phillips screwdriver is needed but the access holes through the plastic housing for engaging these screws are too small. I tried 6 different screwdrivers and none of them would fit in the hole to engage these screws. I finally just had to reem the access holes bigger. The display on the controller is not backlit and hard to see. While cycling through the 6 categories in the menu there is no indicator or way to know which category you are at. Additionally the “-/down” button on the controller I got didn’t work. The tiny tri-fold instructions are confusing, non-intuitive and apparently written by someone that doesn’t tout English as their 1st language.This solar charge controller is responsible for overcharging and frying my 1000 CCA 12V Deep Cycle Marine Battery. Before disconnecting this charge controller my 12V battery was measuring 34V! And like that, there goes my $200 battery. I kept the panel and bought a different charge controller….and battery.
