Zero Maintenance
Having to check and fill lead acid battery levels in confined spaces is difficult and time-consuming. OPTIMA Maintenance. Free batteries are definitely the answer, especially when dealing with a bank of six batteries. I highly recommend OPTIMA Maintenance, Free batteries.

Update: OK, customer service doing the right thing
I bought this battery a bit over 1 year ago (on May 2023). Even after completely charging the battery on an OPTIMA charger, the battery would barely crank over a 20 hp outboard motor. I should have tried to return the battery then, but it still worked (barely), and I needed it for the boat. In Nov 2023 the battery was placed on an OPTIMA charger over the off season. Once again, this spring, the battery is still weak. The battery is not much better than the OPTIMA battery I replaced which I used for 9 years! Very disappointed and I will not be purchasing OPTIMA batteries again.UPDATE:I called customer service and explained the problem, and they will honor the warranty. Following the phone conversation, I got an email that said:We will need a picture of your proof of purchase and a picture of the bar code on the side of the batteryPut your case # in the subject line and email to amazonwarranty@optimabatteries.comI have yet to send in the info, but it seems like I will be able to get a replacement (I'll update here if I do not)So, great Optima customer service! (I knocked off one star as I did receive a faulty battery)Last update: Replacement battery just arrived!! Added back a star

Works perfect!!!! Heid up all day
Much lighter than a walmart battery so far so good, we will see if it holds up with a all day fish, I will update laterUpadate 4/20/16 Used this 8 hours on a 52 lb minn kota, It was windy and I used it hard hard figured it would go down before I left the lake, I was afraid it would not start my 25 hp motor, At end of day my trolling motor has a gage to check battery reserve and it said 3/4 full is that impossible so I had another battery checker and it checked 3/4 full can that be true, can that light of a battery hold that kind of reserve, If this is true and I guess it is,this is the only battery I will ever have. Finally something that gets me thought the day and I can carry from the boat that does not weigh a ton, I will update if things change.Update 5/3/16. Ok had it out 11 hours used hard hard, showed 12.2 volts, check with meter showed 1/2 charge left, unbelievable only battery I will own know matter the cost. Will update after a year5/1/17 Ok bought a bigger boat with a older foot controlled trolling motor, the battery. We fished and used it from 9:00 am until 8:00 a 11 hour day of pretty much nonstop. After about 11 hours battery died. I still am very happy, if I had to do it over I would of bought the D31M check it out. It has 75 ah. That would have enough to run the day. Just a thought. It not that much more to buy the 31. My friend has a 31 and has had it for years maybe 6 or 7. Still works perfect.

Great product but Amazon cannot deliver without damage
I have used Optima batteries on my boat for several years. The batteries deliver good performance and I received 4 years of service out of the last D34M.I ordered a new Optima from Amazon as they offered the best price however the battery arrived damaged as it obviously had fallen out of the bottom of the box. The box was too big for the product, very lightweight, and only had paper wrapped around the battery for padding. UPS attempted to put the battery back in the box and added more packing tape but the battery had been damaged where it hit the ground. Amazon customer service was great in resolving the issue quickly (and at 9:00 pm) by sending me a replacement. Guess what happened to the replacement? Yep, it too was packaged the same (after I specifically asked for better packaging) and had fallen through the bottom of the box, cracking the case. UPS also retaped the box and delivered the second damaged battery.Amazon customer service was willing to send me a third battery but I asked for, and received a refund instead. Now I have two damaged batteries I need to dispose of (the batteries cannot be returned to Amazon as they are considered hazmat).....

Get what you pay for
I bought a boat from my dad a few years ago. I installed a Lowrance elite . The last few trips I went on I noticed that the Lowrance popped up and posted a low voltage warning when I started the motor but went off swiftly when the motor started. I had no problem except was concerned because of the low voltage warnings so I checked the battery connections and noticed the date of the battery was over eight years old . l was surprised because I never had a battery last that long. Because it was in my boat I decided to change it.. But it still is going strong. I shopped for batteries and found some cheaper but if they only last four years old in the long run they would be more expensive due to having to buy two . And I don't want to be stuck in a boat with a cheap battery and having to call for a jump.

Good battery so far; Only on the water 2 months
Just bought in July 2024 to replace a dead AGM. Battery seems to hold a 12.4v charge when I do not have the battery charger on the boat run. I drained the charge in 2 weeks with just the marine radio idle - not on - which was surprising. But, did let me know the Guest 10 amp charger was toast ( it lasted a surprising 20 years). Running two Humminbird Helix units, starts a Yamaha 150 hp 4-stroke and all boat accessories. Have hit it pretty hard with say 6 hours on the sonar units and so far so good. Will report back, but seems like a good battery and alternative to the newer lithium batteries.
