Excellent little kitchen tool
I use it 1 to 2 times a week. Great way to serve leftover rice and not waste it. Also works with pasta.

Not Only Rice, But Steamed Vegetables
We had a microwave rice cooker for many years, but recently it started peeling away in strips, so I purchased the Home-X Microwave Rice Cooker. My husband looked at it skeptically because our old one had been much heavier plastic and maybe a tiny bit larger. My husband makes the rice for the dog's food in large portions and freezes the concoction of rice, ground beef, and chicken in containers of 4 or 5 servings each. As it happened, he was the first one to use it and the rice came out just as expected. On evening a few days later I was getting ready to cook some frozen broccoli and decided to give the new rice cooker a try. (I never steamed vegetables in the old one.). It turned out perfectly-- not mushy and still a little crispy. Since then I've done asparagus and had the same perfect results. This is not just a rice cooker, as a matter of fact, cooking rice might just be a sideline for this rice cooker

Works well, but don’t follow enclosed directions.
The first shipment left out the directions, so I looked up online generic cooking directions. These directions worked well with Basmati. Customer service sent me a second shipment which HAD the directions, but called for much more water and much longer cooking time. This would have made overcooked, mushy rice. The cooker is fine, makes individual grains of rice, but research cooking instructions yourself. I used 1 cup Basmati and 1.5 cups water, microwaved 9 min on high in 1100 watt oven, and rested several minutes.

Works great!
Great rice cooker. My only complaint is the rice water leaking out of the vents, but it's easy to wipe up.

Nice pot but don't like the lid snappers
At first the pot was almost identical to my other ri e maker. When I used it I found that the snappers did not have e hinges, like my other pot had. I struggled with closing it and finally only could get 3 snappers secure. Made the rice, it came out fine but I haven't been able to close all 4 snappers. They have no flexibility and still very to deal with. Being used at least 4 x per week, I expect that the snappers will not last. Very disappointing.

It cooks instant brown rice!
This product is new enough that there aren't many good instructions on using it. I had to experiment with it carefully checking the progress periodically. Some people have experienced total meltdown.I live in a place where meals are provided and I only have a kitchenette with a microwave. I need to find creative ways to make foods I want that are extra. I am happy with the way the instant brown rice turned out.

Brown Rice and Oatmeal
Works great. I use this for brown rice or oatmeal. The cook times are different for brown rice. I rinse 1 cup of brown rice in the bowl. I use the inner lid to drain the rinse water. I then add 3 cups of liquid to the rice. Microwave uncovered on high for 10 minutes. Then attach the lids and microwave at power level 5 for 20-24 minutes. Open lids and fluff with a fork. Power level 5 cook times may vary. I experimented at first. I have a 1200 watt microwave.Oatmeal is easy. 1/2 cup of oatmeal. 1cup liquid. Microwave for 2 mins on high. Perfect. Easy to clean and no oatmeal boils over into the microwave oven. Very happy with purchase. Good Value.
