Great art, great book. Buuuut....
Sharks, pterosaurs, animals pre-dinosaur's showing up on Earth. Loses out there. This would be like ordering a book of birds and instead of just having birds, there's a mix of a Siamese Fighting fish, some various turtle species, a Labradoodle, and several species of dinosaurs that came about pre-bird evolution.Disappointing but I am maybe not the target audience.

Daughter loved it.
I gave this book to my daughter right before we boarded our flight. It gave her something to do during the flight. She is a teenager but a big fan of dinosaurs and she really enjoyed this book. Shipping was fast.

Not quite what I was expecting
The images are like someone tried to watercolor paint them (and not well at that.) I was looking for more of a textbook encyclopedia, but this is more like an actual field notebook. The leather(ish) cover is nice though. There should have been more photos of the inside pages and I'd have known better of what it was.

Not bad, but there is better.
The book itself was light, small enough to carry in pocket, and nicely illustrated. It has the look and feel of an actual, hand made field guide. However, that's where the good ends.-There is very little information on the topic itself (dinosaurs & co.): things like time periods and locations, what are and are not dinosaurs, what the different families are, or even any information on the creature I'm looking at beyond what I can already see.-This book also lacks any real sense of organization within itself. Animals from all over the world, all across time, and all across different families are all just thrown in together with no discernable order.-None of the art is original, just watercolor repaints of images that can be found on a simple Google search. Not bad to look at, but nothing to really capture interest.-There is very little "uniqueness" about the book. Few of the animals are lesser-known, and the rest are almost like necessities. "A dinosaur/prehistoric book MUST have T-rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Megalodon. Everything else is filler".Overall, a decent book for younger children/those with low attention spans, but nothing all that good.
