ClosetMaid 6 Cube Storage Shelf Organizer Bookshelf with Back Panel, Easy Assembly, Wood, Dark Chestnut Finish

I had several blemishes on the finish. It looked like they painted the blemishes from the factory. I built the first one (I ordered 4) and left it on the covered carport for a couple of weeks. The bottom swelled. The paint came off from the bottom. Theses are not durable for any time left outside even covered and out of the weather. One of them out of the four will not lock properly and is kind of shaky. I installed the back cardboard piece and it firmed it up some but it is not sturdy like the other 3. The size is great. Putting together is not that hard. There are no ikeas local to me and shipping was extremely expensive for that brand so I decided to try these. They do stack good. They are flush when stacked. I do not recommend for outside use even for short amount of time. As in, don't put them together outside and then bring them inside. It will ruin them. The finish is extremely easy to scratch so be mindful of that. Also never let any liquid in contact with them. Such as wry Mop or drinks on top. This is particle board so the wood will swell and separate. As far as size, they are perfect. I have four that will be side by side and 2 on top. I can hide the defective part on the one that was outside under the carport for 2 weeks. I also purchased the expensive box Liner fold outs and they fit perfectly and will also prevent seeing any of the defects. Overall it is a decent product I just wish they were more durable. I purchased the white ones. The two in the picture are the ones that I built inside the house. They were not exposed to outside. There were slight flaws, such as paint touch ups done from the factory. But overall they will serve the intended purpose of creating more storage and helping me to be organized.

Backing is super cheap cardboard, I originally intended the backside to face out (I was using it to create a DIY U Shaped desk, but the back only has the wood texture on one side, and it doesn’t completely fit over the full back. If you intend to put it flush against a wall it’s fine (I ended up doing this) but keep that in mind.Assembly was pretty straight forward, struggled to keep the pegs from popping out while screwing everything in but overall easy assembly and all the screw holes were even and drilled neatly!

Took about 30 minutes and easy to follow the instructions. Best if two people work on it so the holes can be easily lined up with the pegs. Be sure to tighten the screws enough and it's pretty sturdy. May need to attach it to the wall if it appears to be wobbly once my grandson starts moving the baskets. Very satisfied with the product!

I absolutely love this unit. I've been searching everywhere for a long time for a shelving unit to house my album collection, 480+. Finding the right dimensions was not a fluke. I was specific in my search. What wasn't specific was the color. I'm amazed at how well it matches my new flooring. I ordered 2, and they arrived on time and very well packaged. Heavy. I was 100% thrilled by the time I got it put together by myself. I didn't give it a 5 star for two reasons. First, assembly was going well until the last major step. It was really, really difficult to align 16 posts simultaneously, which is a must. Almost gave up. Because of that, it took me about an hour to fully assemble. Second, there are large mysterious markings on the panels. They look awful. And disappointingly, there are more than just a few. But in the end, I'm absolutely thrilled with it. Can't wait to get the 2nd one up. One unit will be long and adjacent to the other unit which will be tall. In other words, like an "L" shape.

I would have given 5 stars but it isn’t as sturdy as it should be so I ended up using my nail gun and a few screws on the thicker corner piecesI purchased 2 and stacked them to organize my baking pans and it looks neat as I hoped it wouldI secured them and created one huge shelf with my nail gun

Checked for the Kallax cubes, but they did not have a six cube version and needed the 6 cube in order to reach light switch on wall the cube is placed on (the Kallax 8 cube would have covered the switch).The assembly instructions were not great and we had it partially together before realizing that not all sides of the product are finished. In fact, only one side is finished- the one facing forward. The large Kallax unit we bought had finished sides on the front and back- in fact it could be used as a room divider because ir is finished front and back.The material is inferior compared to the Kallax unit we have with the particle board chipping off in places even before assembly. Once the unit was put together, it was not nearly as stable as the Kallax unit. I wish that we had purchased the Kallax 8 cube unit even though we would have had to reach behind the unit to turn the light on. This Closet Maid cube storage unit is not likely to hold up for more than a couple of years. I do not foresee it lasting through a move since it is so unstable.

Good quality and decent assembly.It should be strong enough to hold my books. The inner shelves aren’t as thick as the outer frame, and while it does come with a backing (as compared to the Ikea version), I didn’t install it.

This is not a knock against the furniture, this is against Amazon. After I bought the unit, the next day the price went down $50. When I asked if they could do something it was a to bad so sad attitude. I didn't expect the full amount, maybe just a small credit on my next purchase. Nope. Nothing.

I have a Kallax unit from IKEA and needed another similar unit in a 1x3 configuration to store more of my vinyl records. That size of Kallax isn't available so I took a chance on this Closetmaid unit. I have to say I'm very impressed! The dark walnut colour matches exactly with my Kallax. I couldn't be happier with the look of it and it's the perfect size.The price on this is often fairly expensive but it seems to fluctuate quite a bit. I watched it for a while until it came down to a price I was comfortable paying. It was certainly worth the wait!

It’s a little damaged and I didn’t like how it was already partly assembled (some screwed were in) which made it hard to put together
