quite surprise at its performance, great travel laptop
When it comes to buying laptop, I usually lean toward more brand name one like HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc... to get a more reliable machine and performance. However, I did have a pretty good experience with this brand a few years back with some tablets/PC so I decided to buy this laptop from them. I'm quite please with laptop's performance and features after past few weeks. First of all, it's very light weight, only at around 2.5 lbs, it's super portable and versatile, making it a great laptop to carry around. On a full charge, its battery last me through out the whole day. At first, I thought the J4125 processor would be somewhat slow and underpowered but this laptop runs pretty smoothly and efficiently. It doesn't get hot at all or noisy, the fans run super quiet. The 2k IPS screen on a 13" screen is a bit overkill since that'd be too small to read anything, so I have to set the screen scaling from 150% to 175% to be able to read everything comfortably. But it's a very nice screen, bright and sharp images. The built-in WIFI and bluetooth connection work well, the WIFI speed is super fast when connection on a 5Ghz WIFI, I can transfer file through WIFI connection at about 60Mbps. It comes preloaded with Windows 10 Home version but does allow me to create offline account instead of signing in to online account (as most Home version doesn't allow that). Overall, this is a great general purpose/travel laptop, its price is reasonable and in my opinion, its price is affordable and its features/performance is just as well as any other brand name one. The only improvement I wish it has is a touch screen capability, with that feature it'd be even more awesome.

I don’t know if mine is defective or they are all like this.
It has EXTREMELY long loading times for all apps. Without exaggerating, half the time I open any app it gives me an error code. Very unfortunate because the screen quality is Fantastic and the design is optimal for my schooling and streaming needs. The small sleek dimensions of the laptop make it easy to carry around and use anywhere. It kills me that THE ACTUAL SOFTWARE SUCKS AND IS SO EXTREME SLOW!

Surprisingly good!
I am a Developer/IT Administrator and am a big fan of Lenovo and Dell laptops. This laptop is just a notch below similar laptops from Lenovo and Dell but at 1/6 of the price. While the laptop only supports 8GB of RAM, it is more than enough RAM for browsing, Office, and development. If you need more power or RAM, just remote into your server or gaming PC. There are two M.2 SSD slots (not NVME). One slot is easily accessible by removing one screw and a small cover, and the other requires removing several screws and the screws under the rubber feet. I used rubber contact cement to glue the feet back on after adding a second drive (4TB of SSD total). The display is surprisingly good. Very clear, sharp, and a very fine DPI for such a small screen. Despite the fine DPI and high resolution, everything looks clear and sharp even without my glasses on, YMMV.Linux is supported. I dual boot Windows 10, Windows 11, and Debian Bullseye. Kernel 6 is supported and seems to have made the laptop even snappier.I cannot believe this laptop is less than $300. It performs as well as my Lenovo X1 Carbon 10th Gen that I paid over $1800 for, plus this laptop has a better display!10/10 Highly recommended for those looking for an affordable light weight, snappy, 13.1 inch laptop. Perfect for most students, office work, and developers.

Problem with Sleep Mode
So far, I've had an irritating issue with the machine not waking up from Windows sleep mode. Once it goes to sleep, there's no waking it except for holding down the power button and forcing a total reboot. The keyboard will light up while in sleep mode, but the screen stays black and no inputs are recorded. Oddly, this started after about ten days of ownership. I cannot find a resolution to this problem anywhere. I have found others complaining about this issue with Chuwi's laptops, including the Gemibook, but no good answers have been provided. I am certainly not going to start opening up the machine and mess with the battery connections or any other hardware fiddling like that.Otherwise, once the machine is on, it works exactly as I had hoped. The screen is great, and the quality/resolution/aspect ratio are perfect for web browsing. I essentially wanted something to replace my Chromebook Pixel, which Google has decided not to support anymore (for no discernable reason since it still has excellent internals). This Gemibook gets very close to the same build quality and works well enough for web browsing. I just download Brave browser and it's my new surfing machine for when I'm on the couch and need something more than a smartphone. It's also lightweight and easy to travel with.If Chuwi would get back to me about the Sleep Mode issue, which I've already sent them an email about, we can hopefully fix the one big nagging issue that is causing me to reconsider my purchase and potentially return it.UPDATE: Chewi essentially capitulated on the Sleep Mode issue. They first gave me instructions for updating the graphics driver. But the graphics driver was already updated to the latest version, so that didn't help. After that exercise, they told me to just return it. Really a disappointing outcome, because I really wanted the machine to work right. The Hibernate option ended up being a decent solution (after turning off Sleep Mode in the power settings), but I ended up returning it to try out Chewi's 14 inch GemiBook Pro laptop instead.

Is there a fan?
I've only used the laptop a couple of times as it heats up after about an hour. Is there a fan at all or maybe it doesn't work? Any one else have this issue?

Excellent Value and Quality Construction
The metal casing is solid. The screen is very clear at 2K. I love the backlit keyboard. Boots in 10 seconds also updates to windows 11, Runs very snappy. I added a 256gb micro SD card. I was going to by a used MacBook but the specs are better with Chuwi in that price range. Excellent value for the price.
