Easy setup; versatile connectivity and great sound in one very nice sound bar.
The media could not be loaded. Easy setup; versatile connectivity and great sound in one very nice sound bar.WHY A SOUND BAR AND WHY THIS PARTICULAR SOUND BAR:Although I have always used a soundbar with my smart TV/Monitor for the obvious reason that the original speakers are totally inadequate, I never thought of using a soundbar with my computer set up. The 42 watt, 2.0 stereo bookend speakers I hooked up seemed adequate for watching YouTube and other videos online. But, then I began to use my computer for music lessons and language lessons and I found that it was even more important to have distinct, clear and rich sound. Not being a real techy oriented user of modern electronics I had to read and research to determine the best options. I found that I wanted Dolby, blue tooth and/or HDMI connectivity, 5.1 surround sound and simple operation. I also did not want to spend an outrageous amount of money for this accessory, but I knew that clarity and sound quality were missing in my then current set up. A search of Amazon yielded several options for me and I decided that this unit checked all the boxes. So, I ordered.FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF APPEARANCE: The soundbar arrived in a very, very large package; it was packed securely and arrived in pristine shape; very heavy. Take your time unpacking as there are many layers and lots of product. You will be left with a mountain of packaging material, but about 90% of it looks to be recyclable. The sound bar and the two surround sound speakers seem to be very well made from quality materials. The box of accessories included two USB A/C chargers for the separate speakers, RCA plugs, remote control and two batteries, and a 3.5 Aux cable. Does not include an HDMI or Optical input cable. Fortunately, I have extra HDMI cables for use with the HDMI ARC input. All of the inputs are clearly marked as shown in the attached photos. There are four soft rubber buttons on top/middle of the sound bar for power, line selection, and volume up and down. When I clicked on the power button a very bright "on" light was displayed and it is quite easy to use the line selection to use the input you have chosen. Bluetooth, my favorite function, works flawlessly with no perceptible lag. As shown in the pictures, the bar fits neatly on my computer stand. The subwoofer is well sized to sit nicely next to my computer stand. Really nice looking addition to my computer set up. I chose to have the two detachable speakers sit on a table behind my chair so that I could just be surrounded at ear level with sound. The remote has both a sound bar power button and a surround power button as well as all the necessary functions needed to completely control the unit from the remote.FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF SOUND: So now the sound. This is a 300watt unit with a 5.25 inch subwoofer. The sound at very low volume settings is incredible. I am using this unit in a small space so the sound is totally jarring at higher volumes. Dolby Audio functions when connected through HDMI ARC and is everything you would expect from Dolby. I particularly like this feature when I plug the unit into my smart TV/Monitor.Detachable wireless speakers: The two detachable wireless satellite speakers have a good range and can be moved to an adjoining room. It did take a couple of hours to charge the detachable wireless speakers the first time, but the charge has lasted several days with intermittent usage. The 5.25 inch wireless subwoofer is an extra bonus: The subwoofer does enhance bass and that is important to me as I will explain. Of course, a subwoofer may not be important to some, but it is good to get one in this price range.5.0 Bluetooth is indeed instant pair and play with no apparent lag in transmission.Multi Connection capability: As mentioned, there are many options for connection. I have even left my 42 Watt speakers plugged into the computer and can easy switch to those with one button push if I do not want the entire surround sound experience. (Although I have tried to attach a brief video through my camera, the video does not adequately demonstrate the richness of the sound output. I mostly wanted to show my setup). In summary, I have to say that coming from 42 watts bookend speakers on my computer to this surround sound unit is a real listening pleasure.USAGE I FIND MOST SATISFYING: I have tried this soundbar with my 55 inch smart TV/Monitor and it is an entirely new and better movie watching experience. However, I have moved away somewhat from movies and I wanted a unit that would help me with music lessons, jam sessions and original recordings. With the set up I have, sound bar in front and speakers behind, I am enveloped in music coming from my computer. I can play a sound track through my computer and jam along with my acoustic musical instruments, guitar, fiddle and mandolin. It is very important to have clarity, and accurate audio reproduction in acoustic music and this soundbar delivers quite well. I really feel as if I am in the middle of a jam session. Now having said that I also have, through Skype and other conferencing software, been able to participate in sessions with other musicians. Because the music that I am most interested in playing is driven by bass rhythm, the subwoofer is incredibly good for keeping in time. Because it is difficult to get together in person with other musicians some days this sound bar is a perfect go to when I want to practice with others in a jam session. I realize this is a particularly personal preference for the surround sound that not everyone would be interested in, but it is just one of many uses that I have discovered. Of course, if you are into movies, YouTube etc., this unit will serve you quite well also. I am just amazed by how useful it is for soundtracks, music practice and remote jam sessions, but the surround sound also enriches movie watching. After all is said and done it is just a soundbar and speakers, but the richness that it brings to my listening pleasure is a very satisfying experience. I wish I had found this unit years ago.DISLIKES: The unit does not come with the HDMI cable or the optical cable. Those are very inexpensive if you do not already have them. No written instructions (really, this unit is so user friendly that you would spend more time reading through instructions than it would take you to just plug and play). No real learning curve with this one. That's it for dislikes!!!FINAL THOUGHTS AND EXTRA BENEFITS: The packaging says the company plants a tree with this purchase. Checked out the Majority website and it appears to be an upstanding company with environmental concerns. Although I have a feeling this soundbar package will last me many years it is good to know that there is a three year warranty directly from the company. This really was a good purchase and I am considering purchasing a second one for permanent replacement of the current soundbar I have connected with my TV/Monitor.Cheers and happy listening.

Clarity
First off, instruction manual could have been much more detailed. This entire system is Bluetooth.Definitely. Plug and play. The sound is phenomenal the best sound bar I have heard in thirty years. However,The fact the remote took over my smart TV.Is not a convenienceMore of a hindrance. I am contacting technical support for this issue. Will be updating this review.

1/2 disappointed!!!
The right speaker does not work at all. It crackles with no sound coming out. All other speakers work great. It came with no directions at all and there are so many buttons on the remote- I have NO idea what they are for or how to use when it came with no directions.

easy to hookup, great sound for the price.
I loved how easy this was to hook up to my TV. Our old wired Bose surround sound system needed to be replaced but we didn't want to spend a fortune at this time. It was so easy to hook to the TV with an optical cable and it sounds great. The little end surround sound speakers are a nice added touch when watching a movie otherwise we just leave them connected. Great purchase for the price.

Control the volume with your Firestick remote & how to remotely turn on the satellite speakers
Using HDMI-Arc, the system set up easily enough. But I had a problem getting my Firestick remote to control the volume. I did not want to use 2 remotes. The brand "Majority" is not listed among the soundbars, when trying to add it to the Firestick. But, by accident, I discovered the original TV remote would lower the soundbar volume. So, in the Firestick settings, under managed devices, I changed the device that controlled the volume from the soundbar to the TV. Now my Firestick remote controlled everything. The only thing the soundbar remote is needed for is tweaking the soundbar 5.1 sound. To turn on the satellite speakers, point the remote toward the satellite speaker not the soundbar and simply press the green surround power button on the top right of the remote. The blue leds, on the satellite speakers will light up. There is an infrared receiver in each satellite speaker. You will need to keep the soundbar remote handy. But I can live with that.

Great sound
I love to versatility of the satellite speakers being wireless. It delivers great sound and covers a large room well. I occasionally have to restart it because it cuts off on its own. The box did not contain a wall mounting template as listed in the instructions, so I ended up making one.
