Great Saw! But missing parts.
This saw is amazing. Lots of power. Only complaint I have is that it was supposed to have a blade and wrench in the box but both were missing. Hopefully the seller would be willing to send them to me if they read this.

Full sized, full power!
I'm very happy with my choice. I always prefer worm drive, but the last time I looked, Makita only had a 6-1/2" cordless worm drive. This saw is 7-1/4". Excellent saw.

Awesome saw, but a bit heavy
This saw is worth the money. The metal blade guard is much better than more common plastic with others. Easy adjustments. Easy to change the blade. Safety features like a safety switch and auto brake if it encounters an obstacle. Accurate cut which is improved if you make an easy square. Only drawback is that it is heavier than I'd like, but that should really be expected for a strong motor and 2 batteries needed to power it. If you're a hobbyist, it might be more saw than you need.

Why did I wait so long?
Ok, building trade professional for 33 years. I have been running makita cordless tools since the first cordless drills came out. I have been running the higher rpm 6.5” cordless saw for a while and have been making it work. I decided to give the 7 1/4” a try and wow! Not sure why I waited so long. This saw is well balanced and cuts like butter. I have ripped down 4x lumber and the saw seems like its not even breaking a sweat. Its paired with the makita 71/4” 24 tooth blade and its just awesome. I have been in the game too long to get excited about new tools, but this saw really cuts it. Very happy with this purchase, and should it fall from the roof and get jacked up, I will buy another. Makita nails it again.

Buy the kit it's worth it
I bought this saw about a month ago and it's been that long since I've taken my corded one out of the truck. This thing will do anything my wormdrive saw will, and with the 5ah batteries it is almost impossible to run them dry in one day. I work in residential construction and recently used the saw every day for a week on a single charge. It will run on the 3ah batteries, but not nearly as long. If you can swing it definitely buy the kit, it's worth it if you price out buying 5ah batteries separately.Besides the batteries the cutting performance is awesome. Cuts smooth through rips, crosscuts, paneling, osb, lvl, whatever you throw at it, it's up to the task. Although when I'm cutting plywood I still reach for the cord mid-cut only to come up with air (that will take some getting used to). I wasn't too impressed with the blade that comes on it, but for 10 bucks you can throw a Diablo on there and you're good to go. Only thing it's missing is the led light all my other makita tools came with, not a big deal but would have been a nice touch.Bottom line I've been in construction for 15+ years and this is the BEST cordless tool I've ever used. Good work makita.
