This has so far worked fine for me in DMX mode
I had a lot of trouble getting this company's older (?) product working correctly in DMX mode.https://www.amazon.com/Channels-DMX-521-Decoder-Controller-Strip/dp/B0083RBGJG/That unit (several samples of it) gave me a lot of issues when attempting to use it in a DMX chain with a bunch of other lights/fixtures. In that same DMX chain, this 4-channel unit is working fine.One thing the older unit had that I wish this one did: 3-pin XLR connections for DMX as well as the (less standard) RJ-45 connectors. I suppose adding the XLR connectors would have required a less-compact housing and a bit more expense.

Solid performance!
We are replacing all of our other DMX decoders with these. The display and easy functionality makes this a no brainier.We have never had an issue with the Torchstar decoders.

Not for theater projects
The foot print of this product is nice and small. However, I could not find any other good thing on this product. I should say, the price describes the result. Compare with $100 decoders the fade in/out below 10% is just sad. Also, the The LED tape does not make any good fade in and out compare with otherI connected to this decoder made obvious flickers randomly in about every 3 minutes. It must be great enough for live house or Car decoration but this product should not be used for theater project.
