I have been a sewing enthusiast for a while now, and this sewing machine was the least expensive option I could find. I tried making some little things here and there and I got frustrated at first. The instructions say specifically to thread it correctly or it could break. This machine is mainly plastic, and seems a bit flimsy, but after realizing that sometimes the thread would get stuck, I also realized it would get fix by gently rolling the wheel on the right side.I was able to make this dress for my daughters birthday with this machine, so it definitely works; it just requires a learning curve. It was difficult to work with the satin in the dress, but I fixed it by ironing.Is it like a Brother or singer machine? No. But it would work for simple things. I hope this helps you decide.

I got this little sewing machine to taper things and possibly do a few repairs on some articles of clothing. It's really cute, and I ended up having to go to YouTube to find out how to really use it. When I got my sewing machine it was already threaded and someone had threaded the bobbin in upside down. So I was having a terrible time getting anything sewn. As soon as I flipped the bobbin around the machine worked. I found out immediately it doesn't like knit fabric. You have to be really careful when you're trying to sew that. try not to stretch it. Also the thread that is supplied is not a real good quality. If you use your own bobbins and your own thread you will be happier. I switched out to one of my own threads and it made everything much more smoothly. Be sure to try to find a tutorial on this specific sewing machine on YouTube. You will thank yourself For watching it, because immediately you will know how to use it your machine. I'm very happy I purchased this. I don't need to do these little sewing jobs by hand anymore.

I was excited to get this small, handy sewing machine for my lightweight craft projects. I used it for less than an hour total time and the tension so screwed up - for NO REASON - that the thread kept breaking and balling up the lower thread. I tried to do the fixes but the tension control would NOT move without shear force. I tried a new needle and it was such a hassle with the small work area and loose pieces that kept falling and rolling away that I ended up throwing the stupid thing in the trash!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!!!

So far it seems great! It is for my 9 yr old. Or adult mending. Nice set for the price. It was delivered on time all set to go and extra supplies. If it continues to be good, 5 stars...very happy.
