I purchased this to sew a reinforcement stitch on the window of my vinyl soft top on my miata. The needles and thimble worked well to push through the thick material and the thread was plenty strong enough to hold permanently. Many options of needles included. Scissors thimble thumb guards. Everything you need for the occasional heavy duty repair.

I like this little kit. It is loaded with handy items and a great value. I used it to make a belt larger. The needles and thread were good quality and worked great!

for the fact that any of the finger protective sewing gear is way too small for me. I assume most men. It is still easier to use, much easier to thread, and much more heavy duty that the typical travel sewing kit. I'm using for regular mending purposes like clothing up to heavy duty repairs like backpack straps, canvas, and nylon. Pretty much everything.The end result is not pretty but has been effective. (could be prettier I assume.. if I knew how to sew) I do wish it came with a couple smaller diameter needles because the needles are sometimes tough to push through. Or bigger finger protection gear. Anyway. I did fix most of the things on my list. Good stuff.

I bought this to repair a small tear on a sofa. It didn’t have the color thread to match the sofa so had to buy a thread to match. And, not very easy to sew up leather upholstery with the needles, it’s thick material. My sewing is not that nice, but I was able to do it just enough that it will stabilize the tear from getting worst.

I expected this to be really poor quality. So, I was a little surprised at how well everything is made. I work at a used car dealership and just finished restitching a seam on a leather seat. This kit comes with everything needed for basic leather repair. I showed this to a seamstress friend and she was also quite impressed with the variety of items included and how well those items are made. The selection of curved and straight needles is perfect.The tread in this kit is fantastic. I found it difficult to purchase heavy thread like this locally. I believe it is waxed to help you pull it through more easily. Colors are nice but 90% of the time I'm working with black. So I'd have preferred 2 packs of black and leave out one of the browns.An additional item that I'd like to see included in the kit would be a small tube of super glue. I've found it quite helpful for repairing small tears or to stop existing seam rips before they require a major sown repair.

All the tools and thread fit into a rigid, clamshell-style, zippered, case.So this is by no means a professional set for a leather worker but for occasional leather work or repair, as well as some upholstery repair, it is well worth the $12 price tag.
